  1. I went to a place that had a whole rack of various brass plumbing fittings. I grabbed two 1/2'' ball valves and found the barbed fittings that threaded into each end of the valves. Next I just cut the fuel lines wherever a good spot was for the valve handle to be able to swing open/ closed and clamped onto the barbed fittings using stainless hose clamps. Barbed fittings are male fittings designed to go into rubber hose and not slip off. That's the best way. Because Before, I had it hard plumbed the valve to the filter on one side and hard plumbed to the lift pump on the other and found it used to many fittings and had fuel weeping out even though I used Permatex thread sealant. It was a problem with the close nipples, to be able to adapt, being non tapered threads with the valves being tapered. Just go as few fittings as possible and put a short piece of fuel hose in between the valves and your pump /filter on ea. side. Stay all tapered threading easy with barbed hose fittings, and you'll be all right.
  2. Enthusiasm and skepticism kind of work hand in hand. Enthusiasm will get the word out to people and the skepticism make people ask questions. I read most of your thread http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112382 It s is a pretty long read and most of the folks there seem to be getting the results that you have. But I would like to see more info on testing of the product. I would hate to add something to my truck and have it run better for a year or two and find out I now have to rebuild the engine because of some medium term affect it has on it. What you have done is what this forum is all about. New ideas, products and open discusions on them. This has my interest and I am going to investgate it a little more. Like I said before, I plan on keeping this truck for a long time and so far the only additve i have tried that seems to benifit me is 2 stroke for the fuel. So thanks for pointing it out and lets see where it goes.

you should really go to a hardware store, buy a stick of half inch PVC, 4 90deg elbows and some glue, get your vent mod done. ill bet all your problems will be solved. this mod takes literally about 30 minutes to do and is so worth the time and $10...
