  1. My part time gig is as a concealed weapons instructor, and a 24 year combat infantry vet. Permit or no permit, get yourself some professional training! Practice with your weapon (it's fun), dry fire, practice mag changes and drawing. The thing to remember is "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast". Far to many people think it's not hard to draw a weapon and take a shot that actually hits what they want to hit. This is not the movies where you can fire from the hip and hit every time. The most common question I get is "What is it like?" The only way I can think of getting close is run about a quarter mile, then do some pushups. Now try to draw and hit your target, because that's what's going to happen, your heart rate will go straight up, your field of vision will narrow, and complex tasks become more difficult. This is why the Army does so much repetitive training, if you do something the same way, time after time, it will become muscle memory, and easier to do in a high stress environment. Once the two way rifle range starts, and you start hearing rounds go by, no matter how many times it's happened before, your heart rate will go up, but training can help you function and be able to deal with it. Okay, I'm done with my rant, and if you've read this far, if nothing else become proficient with your weapon. Mark
  2. I'm jelly, but shot my wad on emf ball joints and all new brakes. The EV2's are so nice though...one day, one day.
  3. Put a little needle valve instead of your dampener, then close it all the way and open it just a small crack just enough so the gauge rises slowly.
  4. In the future we won't have to worry about getting ammo. Biden and his clowns from the swamp are going to push for a national registration of ALL guns, then make most of them illegal to own and confiscate them. You'll be lucky if you're left with single shot .22 or 20gauge shot gun. Remember, a gun with no ammo is a club.
  5. That is the beauty of living where I do. There is nothing out here. No one is stupid enough to try coming up on the property. Then if you think you can grab and run. There is only highway to the north and south for lot of miles. Your on highway 95 that has no where to go other than north or south. Your not going to make it far before being picked up. Amber alerts are typically snagged in this stretch because Council (Adam Co.) then McCall (Valley Co.) and the Grangeville (Idaho county) have you trapped. Can't go north Grangeville (Idaho Co.) is blocking, Can't go south on 95 Council (Adams Co.)is blocking, then try to take Idaho 55 nope McCall has you blocked (Valley Co.) Being I'm already part of the Salmon River Rural Fire Dept everyone has my back. We've updated paging services which now my cellphone is a pager and shows me location of my crew and other support units. Here is what I can see for just for now... I know exactly where my support team is located at all times. This is a paid app that Salmon River Fire Chief set up for about 10 to 14 of us on the fringe edge of radio signal. You might be fast, but no one can out run Motorola & Android... Yes I've got my fire radio here and could dispatch for sheriff or support at any time.
  6. I could make them here but I would have to tool up a bit. I would need a good hacksaw or chop saw. Then drill bit to drill 2 holes and 1 mounting hole. The press fit the two couplers in the bracket and braze the fitting in the bracket. Now paint it black and place it up on the store. Mine was produced by Eric at Vulcan Performance but he's not really wanting to build those for me. I kind of want to make a tester edition where there is four ports. This way the sensors can stay installed and a test gauge installed in the test ports and verify in really time how accurate the gauge is in real time version pulling the gauge sender out attempting to tee the line and fit it all under the hood. Even the simple gauge bracket I could build pretty quick.
  7. It's not EU terminology Mike it's UK. MOT is as you say Ministry of Transport, the vehicle inspections are carried out by authorized garages on behalf of the MOT and the test is actually called a MOT test, inspectors float around posing as customers with cars due a MOT to try and catch the garages out not keeping up standards, vehicles have to be on the ramps for the allotted time and the tester logs onto a computer to start the inspection and logs off when finished 45 minutes later, I've been getting all my MOT's done at the same place for 40 years and my mum worked there for 40 years too so MOT's there for me aren't as bad as they could be. VAT is as you say Value Added Tax, everything is taxed at 20% and as many times as it changes hands to end up with the final consumer, so lets say I buy a part from DAP for £100 and lets say the import duty is 5% for a total of £105, shipping is another £100 for a total of £205, I then pay £20% VAT on the total amount for a grand total of £246 . So I decide to sell this part to another business, this other business adds 25% markup which is £61.50 for a total of £307.50 PLUS VAT at 20% for a total of £369. Each business pays the VAT to the government on the profit so if a company is charged £20 VAT and then sells it for a sum which nets £30 VAT £10 goes to the government...... the name gives it away Value Added Tax so each business that "ADDS VALUE" to an item pays 20% of that added value as a tax to the government so really the only guy that actually pays 20% vat is the end little guy Most everything is 20% Vat except most food, childrens cloths, books, household energy Car tax is totally different and Called VED Vehicle Excise Duty. So you buy a car for say £40k 20% vat makes that £48k then lets say it's on the big polluter list (5.0 Mustang or Range Rover or whatever) VED adds another £2.5k. Then go fill it with fuel and 0.56Pence per litre cost of fuel is fuel duty and goes straight to the government TAX TAX TAX and more TAX but our infastructure is pretty good on the back of it
  8. Dripley, you made an excellent choice. Gotta love the Made in USA! Note: Loctite the silver tip on the lead screw, I have had them "walk" off occasionally.
  9. I would like to thank @Joe_Poolfor the info on toold. Picked up the Lang and it looks very suited to the job,
  10. Instead of armoring your truck maybe put the $1000 into a V plow to push your way through to get to safety? Ohio is an open carry state, no permit needed for open carry but you need one to conceal. If things get that bad it'll be on my hip always.
  11. I guess I dont understand the point of putting a steel plate in front of the radiator, but then having 4 rubber tires? or the doors without doing glass. if you live in a spot that is actually at risk of needing this I would suggest you put that $1000 towards moving. Don't mean any disrespect.
