  1. All sorted.......... I decided to check for bare shorted wiring around the column, all ok there, took a look at the wiring diagram again and checked for stuff earthed/grounded at G100 left fender and as well as wipers and indicators (turn signals) the washer pump is also on that ground, unplugged it and everything is back to normal, plugged washer pump back in and wipers come on with left turn signal. I took the battery and box out again and while the G100 ground ohmed out ok the other day and looked passable I decided to just replace it, chopped the terminal off and while inspecting i

  2. This is just a personal opinion, but I think the power steering system on our generation of Dodge Rams is pushed to the limits from an engineering point of view. Years ago when I would design hydraulic systems for custom applications, I would always look at the maximum required force and maximum required speed of the system. I would then design the system to perform at 15% higher pressure and flow so that the system would never reach relief pressures or have the operation slow down under normal operating conditions. I don't think the engineers did that with our power steering sy

  3. I hear that and also the words from my Uncle, ''Don't be jumping down off trucks like that or someday your knees will be really bad". Now 69 and I think I just did my last jump..... never felt this much pain ever and now know what he's talking about. Guess I been lucky. Now I carry a small ladder to go up and down as I don't ever want that pain again. Problem tho..... all those beautiful ladies will think I'm old doing that. Really tho who cares as it's smart to take care of yourself. Work good, but don't get hurt. We just completed a 10 by 57 boat dock using Trex deck and patterns

  4. Yes, I should have known better really, thing is I pulled/twisted on that bunch of wires and no difference in Ohms but as you say one strand will show good No... too cold here right now for concrete so next best is what it got Not Brexit my friend we're much better off now..... We cut the anchor chain , the UK has vaccinated 15 million people since Dec 8th. EU didn't start until 27th Dec as they couldn't decide whether to approve the vaccines or not, now they just might have done 2 or 3 million, we'll have 70% of our population done by July, EU countries range from December

  8. Glad to hear you got it fixed, having had the same symptoms myself I was pretty confident you would end up at the G100 ground. It's hard to get to and like you mine was almost hidden by the other wires. When I replace the fender this spring I plan on inspecting, replacing, and upgrading that mess! Mark

  9. @wil440, this is a very good example of why resistance checks using an ohmmeter and visual checks are not reliable for diagnosing electrical problems The ohmmeter just tells you there is a connection, but does not tell you anything about the quality of the connection - same with the visual check. I am glad you stayed with it and went back to the problem ground wire connection. - John

  12. Can you write a bit of code to show the variable for the vanes so you can see if they are actually be set right or is there another bit of code over riding your value. I sometime fight web code the same way and just plop in a more or less "print X" and look at what the software is doing. I've made coding mistakes where the set value was being over written by anothe command.

  14. When my rv got paid off the bank let a year go buy without sending my title. Despite several phone calls they just weren't going to send it. My attorney sent a letter explaining how we will file at the court for all costs plus a 1,000 dollars for me if they don't send it within a week. Have to say that got their attention as the title was in my mailbox within a few days. Interestingly the bank president signed it off with a huge scribbled signature all across the page. The attorney I have now is smarter than anyone I've ever known. He is brilliant with his subtle ways. Just an amaz

  16. Had this issue two years ago, replaced the multi function switch and still had the problem. Turned out to be the ground under the drivers side battery tray. This is a very important ground and is in a very bad location, lots of corrosion and rust. Clean it up and make sure everything is grounded properly and a lot of problems go away. Mark

  17. While reading this my coffee is next to me. Got a call from dad last night. So I'll be heading to his place today to check out his snow blower. He says it won't start. Thinking he just wants me to clear the snow but either way he needs help so I'll be there. Was considering clearing our drive today but now temps are supposed to go above freezing tomorrow and calling for rain so maybe mother nature will take care of it for me. We have some cold weather coming next week. Temps in the single digits so I'll be doing what I have to in order to.prepare like getting my cord out to plug i

  18. For me the yard is starting to empty out. I'm down to a couple of simple jobs today I need to change an oxygen sensor on a VW and then install a MAP sensor on a Chevy Suburban. I'm very happy to start seeing slower times once again. Like I tell @Wet Vette (Eileen) I need to go to Riggins and ***** myself out on the street corner. This sounds funny but its totally true. I can go to Riggins, ID park my truck on the side of the building with my logo facing the street. Now go to the Chevron store grab a Pepsi and go chat with Steve Crump. Within less than a hour typically I'll have a j

  19. The time to actually worry, like, legitimately start stocking up for the wars is when people stop buying US bonds. The US bonds are quite literally the stabilizing force for the entire global economy. They are the benchmark, the gold standard, the last step. A US bond is still considered the safest asset on the planet. The first question one asks when working on an investment idea is "what is the risk free return rate", which is asking what is the return rate on a US bond. You do not want to see high bond yields. That is a BAD sign. Realistically, until you start seeing yields exc

  20. I believe that was ben franklin? Or maybe washington. My memory isn't so good. I also agree with it though. There is a war at this point. Several fronts to it as well. There's the information war to keep us all misinformed of the truth. There is the racial issues that you see in the news but as a white man with colored friends and co workers I don't see it as bad as they portray on the news. Neither do the colored people I talk to about it. Then there is this gender bender thing going. I don't want to get started on that. I WILL offend someone. The morals of this country and

  21. I feel we leave in very interesting times, but then again every generation can probably say that. We all like to live in the past and our kids see this world as normal for the most part as they haven't experienced much of what older generation has. There is a lot to be said about where the humanity is heading with technology and everything else, it all seem to be going hand and hand, like it's been a plan for a long time. Which if you do look at alternative news sources you'll see that nothing is what we're told about this world. Who do you trust... It comes down to good people wil

  22. I've been somewhat laid up at home. Been dealing with a torn meniscus since before Thanksgiving. Had arthiscopic surgery on the 20th. All went well, knee feels much better but still not completely stable. Still swollen but I'll get there. Been watching some stuff online from alternative news sources on the recent developments in our country. It's very scary. I fear for alot if things. I've noticed since biden took office diesel around here has jumped $.30 already. Once he jacks the minimum wage up to $15/hour many restaurants and other business based on min. wage labor will surely
