Currently I have a stock 47re trans as far as my knowledge ( Previous owner had it rebuild but no records of the work done). End goal is to take the truck to 300 - 350hp and cap it. I want to build a reliable towing trans out of what I have and eventually look at a GearVendor gear splitter if I ever get around to it. As it stands now though, its a completely stock motor and trans combo that all works like it should but I want to try to get ahead of the ball on doing the preventative maintenance on it. I'd like to know what I will have to get swapped out and recommendations on what to get. I'd rather overkill the trans than it give out on my 1000+ mile road trips with the Deckover trailer behind it. Any opinions are appreciated.

Last weekend I replaced the crankshaft seal on my front cover as well as installing a wear sleeve. I followed the procedures that were on the Thoroughbred Diesel YouTube Channel. I used the wear sleeve installation tool and the crank seal installation tool. Used Permatex to seal the front cover after installation. I've started to notice fresh oil on my sway bar and steering components after driving. The bottom front bolts of the oil pan had small amounts of oil on them as well. I can't seem to tell if the leak is coming from the oil pan and that the gasket needs to be replaced or if its coming from somewhere else. The tappet cover looks good from what I can see and I retorqed the bolts to 18ft/lbs on the oil pan. Still no luck! Any thoughts or ideas on where else I should check? I cleaned everything up real good but can't seem to stop this leak. It never leaked from this spot before until after I changed the crankseal.

My friends, I'm trying to understand the bushings that are on these tailgates. I'm confused on part #17 and #1 on the diagram. I just ordered two of the #17; those are the bushings that sit on the bed and the pivots (#5/#16) slide into (hence why it says 2 for quantity). I'm just confused as to what the #1 is for on the diagram. It says you only need one (1) of them? Right hand side only? It's weird because when I look up the part number it looks like what I just ordered (2nd photo). Again, I'm just confused on whether or not I need to replace another part (#1) or if I am missing it all together? I'm replacing this #17 because the tailgate has a fair amount of play when rocking it left to right but more so it squeaks like mad going down the road. I can't say that this will fix the left-to-right looseness of the tail gate but I'm fairly certain it will fix the squeak; I narrowed it down to that spot. It is latching just fine after I adjusted the strikers on it. I'll add more to this if anything comes to my mind. I mainly drive with my rear slider open so this had to get fixed before I went postal from Jiminy Cricket squeaking away in my tailgate.

well gentlemen you guys say use the parts lookup but I cant find it useful so if anyone knows where I can find a 47re solenoid or whatever and pretty much service my transmission thanks ahead
