  2. Hello, I'll try to keep this short and to the point. I own a 04 Ram 2500, SBQC, 5.9L 24v, 4x4 Automatic with 250k+mi. on it , Sunday morning I went on a drive and noticed that the transmission was not shifting into over drive, all the other gears seem to work fine though. I checked the fluid level and it was at proper level it also looked clean as well. I had a friend hook up a scanner to it and check for any silent DTC's and got nothing. He then checked APPS readings because I changed it 2 weeks ago and he advised that I calibrated the new APPS within the required tolerances so it was not that. We then took the truck for a drive while he read the scanner and he said that all was operating normally from the ECM side, OD command was being sent to the transmission but the transmission was not responding to the command, I drove the truck up to 60mph and TCC would lock up as well but no OD. I have never had to deal with a faulty auto transmission so I have been doing some research to see what might cause this. What I have found is that it may be one of or a combination of the following, pressure transducer, pressure solenoid, TCC/OD solenoid group or the TCC/OD group wire harness. I just wanted to run it buy the 48re gurus here and see if there is anything I might be overlooking also if there is a proper way to diagnose the items I listed without dropping the oil pan. Based on the write-ups I have seen changing the parts that I listed is pretty straight forward so I feel I can do it myself if there are no other possible culprits. Thank you all for your time. Edwin H.
  3. On my 04.5 I've been having some coolant and trans temp issues. Coolant temps go up to about 200-210 and trans temps get to about 160-175. I've replaced the water pump,180 degree thermostat, a new fan clutch and the trans temp is reading from the pan. I know the trans temps aren't bad but it normally doesn't get above 150-155 on a 90+ degree day. Coolant on the other hand never got above 180 unless i was working the truck hard. After a 15-20 min drive is when things start to heat up, stays there for a few minutes and then creeps slowly back to normal. And this is with highway, city and or just idling in neutral. Doesn't matter. I don't have any coolant or trans fluid mixing and I'm not having any changes in levels from the trans or coolant. Could I have a blockage in my heat exchanger on the side of the block? Don't want to go through another transmission build or engine for that matter right now. Advice?
  4. I have a 102k mile 48re in my 06 CR truck. I never tow more that about 5k pounds the other day I was accellerating up a hill with about 1500 lbs of 4 wheeler, coolers, trash, and butts and I think my T/C slipped a little. As soon as I felt and heard the slip, I got off the throttle. My question would be, what do I need to have a good reliable build without using a full billet input, output, and intermediate shaft, nor do I think I need a triple disc T/C or a complete rebuild. Yes I'm cheap and if I have to rebuild it, I think I'll do it myself. Where might I get the things I may need. I have a super chips vivid tuner 5 inch exhaust, and a AFE intake. 3:73's and 35's.
  5. I got my trans oil sample back and it said it was a little high in tin and some other fiber like clutch. Can anyone help me with what pressure does it should have and where would I check the pressure at? (where to screw into at).
