  1. I have a friend with a 3500 that won't start. His friend did a diagnostic and there were no codes but he got a message that said, "1 no trip". I'm wondering what it means and if it's the reason for the no start? Thanks,Rob
  2. as my first post i would like to thank you guys for teaching me so much, however i am new to the dodge world and there is so much to learn! i have read that the key trick will not work to check for codes on a 2001 24v. is this true?i do the key trick and i get "P done." the reason why i'm asking is my truck feels a little sluggish. i'm getting good fuel pressure 16-17 idle & 12 WOT. no hard starts, sometimes a little gear hunt once in a while but nothing major. just wondering about the APPS. my truck just hit 81,xxx miles and i am concerned about things that might possibly need maintenance. i got my fuel pressure under control and i'm running 2-cycle oil in my fuel (thanks to mopar1973man) so hopefully my VP stays happy, just worrying about other things. also where is the scan tool port? hopefully my buddy can scan it quick for me. anyways, aloha!
  3. I thought I would pass on some info for everyone! I had been talking to Mike "mopar1973man" about adding the scangauge II to my truck, but I am already using the OBDII port to run my Edge Attitude with Juice CTS! Mike an I messaged eachother back and forth, while Mike came up with a feasible idea of hard wiring another OBDII port into the truck, but with unknown an unforseeable issues! I called Scangauge and talked to a lady that was very helpful, explained to her that I needed the OBDII port to run my edge, but I also wanted to run their ScanGaugeII, after a few minutes on hold, she came back with the info on a site that has a "Y" adapter giving you the option of running to ports at once! I ordered the "Y" adapter and the ScanGauge II and will let you know how well it works out! The website she gave me was. http://www.obd2cables.com/products/obd-cables/obd-ii-cables/cable-j1962m-to-2-j1962f-y-cable-1ft.html The cable is very reasonable priced, I ordered my for $13.95 plus FedEx ground for $7.77 so a total of $21.72 I don't believe my nerves could have handled wiring in another port or finding one off a salvage vehicle and then wiring it in would be that cheap! Just thought I would pass this tidbit information on! Jason p.s. Thanks Again Mike "Mopar1973Man":smart:
  4. I went to the codes section but these are not listed over there 0628 0529 0541 0483 I was just told that all this # start with a P so I guess they are pcm codes
  5. Here you go gang... I finally got a list of error codes put together for you... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=124 This should cover 2007 and up Dodge Cummins for error codes.
  6. I saw this but opted for Ubuntu instead of Vista on my laptop. Am in the OS learning curve. http://www.obd-2.com/#download There is lots of linux related conversation also. Just wondering what others here have done. This looks interesting also. http://www.scantool.net/software/scanxl-std.html
  7. I think with a reader I can get feedback on my laptop but I don't know exactly how it would work. I would think I could see the exact numbers for all of my guages along with IAT info. I am not sure though. The 1997+ all had OBDII on them I just don't know what I can monitor, anyone got an idea? I was thinking of getting this http://www.laplogger.com/products.shtml?fily=wired_usb
  8. Mike, I was wondering about the Scangauge. Is it a simple plug and play setup? I am interested in getting on.Al
  9. Last question I have for you guys to help me with thats probably pretty simple to answer. Obviously because I have a 99 I cant read codes with using the key switch trick. I currently have a quadzilla xzt+ chip. I am looking for something to give alittle boost that is fairly easy to hook up that will read codes. I can't make a decision on spending the money on an edge juice with attitude because of price and I don't think I would use more than 60hp, smarty, or scan gauge. Everyone has something different and I figured you guys could give me a suggestion on what I should go with for my needs. Thank you!
  10. I didn't know where else to put this so, this is as close as i get it to the topic. I was reading through the code list thread and for testing it says "With DRBIII Scan Tool". How do i get my hands on such an expensive tool like that when they are priced over what i can afford? Are there other scan tools like this one that maybe Snap-On, Matco, or Mac Tools has?I'd really like to get my hands on one of these and have been wanting one for a while now. Thanks,Dave
  11. what does a scan guage exactly does a scan guage do does it help with power can it work with my edge comp i have 225,000miles and now want some heads up on when something will go wrong with truck before check engine light comes on this question is brought on by the code of 0237 that you guys are helping me with
  12. Mayne one of you can tell me what happened.I was going to take a look at how many hrs that are on my truck.(I know I was not doing it right but I tried anyway, I know the key should be on first)ok.I turned the key to accessory (not run) I pushed in the trip reset on the dash, held it in looking for the Hrs.nothing, when I released it showed the trip millage, pushed it a second time, it reset the trip.so I pushed it again, and one more time for a total of 4 times. While holding it in the last time I turned the key to run. 8| 8| 8| 8| The dash lights up, flashes, gauges start moving (not normally) where the millage is it shows the (idiot light) for the fog lights then a letter (and where the millage was is it was showing a row of numbers they changed as the lights and gauges changed? It cycled like this for a while then stopped. I turned it off and walked away. What was that all about?I never cycled the key 3 times to retrieve the codes(no cel) I Put the key in and turn it ti the first stop (accessory) ,pushed in the button on the dash to reset trip 4 times held it in then turned the key to run.
