This is what happens when we vote for "Republicans".  Show me just ONE who has done what they promised when running for office.  Ted Cruz has come the closest but even he disgusted me with his political games during the Transpacific Trade Partnership legislative haggling.  He STILL has not come clean and explained himself.

Now we have the progressive socialist Paul Ryan for House Speaker who has given away EVERYTHING.  Why vote when this crap continues???  If any voting is to be done, it should be to recall these Marxist liars.

If it comes to a choice between the Hildabeast or Ted.......I will GLADLY cast my vote for Ted.  I realize it is not a perfect world especially in the world of politics.  Ted Cruz is about as close as anyone has come to Barry Goldwater.  The best president of the 20th century is Calvin Coolidge in my opinion.  Not many have come close to him.  Maybe Reagan on a long shot and perhaps Ted Cruz.  Reagan disappointed me too with his "war on drugs" (read war on the Constitution, private property, and morality).  The Iran Contra deal did not help either.  He STILL stands like a Sequoia Redwood in a field and dandelions compared to ANY Democrat with the exception of Zell Miller who was a Libertarian Constitutionalist cooped up in the progressive Marxist Democrat Party.

I am not unreasonable to represent.  If you step in a pile of dog !@#$ just admit it, scrap it off your boots, learn from the experience, and move on knowing AND doing BETTER.  That is all I ask.  No Democrat has done this and in my opinion maybe one Republican has and he is my favorite....... Mike Lee.  I am sure he has his warts and all that I will just have to get over like I will with Ted Cruz.

I like your thoughts.  I would have voted for Barry Goldwater, or Ike Eisenhower, in spite of Eisenhowers allowance of evolution into the Fact column rather than the theory and process of which it was originally presented.

Frankly though, I read about this stuff extensively, and enjoy following the discussion here and elsewhere(arfcom).  However, I cannot find the time or patience to become whipped up about it all, as I feel a bit ineffective beyond the abilities I have to vote and pray for our great and fading country.  It pains me.

If you really want to talk about reform, let us pray and push for an open and full disclosure of all financial contributions and gains of all sitting senators and congressmen normally submitted to the IRS by normal individuals, with the addition of all insider information and who is providing such insider information to the public eye. I would be amiss if not to include their spouses, and I do not believe that this is out of place or unconstitutional in given the word unreasonable when it applies to search and seizure.  Corruption, especially in Government is a cancer that we cannot afford socially, legally, practically or fiscally.

I do not think that the United States is going anywhere soon.  Yet I feel that we need large reforms and changes that point back to our founding core values, morals, and honor.  We have always failed to live up to the standards we set for ourselves, but we can do better.

Someone famous said it, and I learned it in my politics class in college, "all politics is local". We have to start at the local level and work our way up. I stood in line New Years Eve for Chinese food and ending up talking to the guys in front of me, this was in Massachusetts, liberal central. And they were ashamed Trump had it this far and that Martin O'Malley looked promising. One guy went on to say obama has done great things for this country like keeping jobs in the US and bailing out General Motors....I had to bite my tongue. Until a vast majority of the American people pull their heads out their asses and take the time to figure what is really going on in this country, we're sunk. obama just had a commercial about gun control and he's probably going to take executive action soon to restrict us even more. People taking handouts are happy to continue taking handouts, and "wealthy" people who don't need to worry about money are going to keep pushing their lovely ideals and laws for us stupid commoners, while the middle and working class continues to shrink. Not to be even more of downer but our votes and voices are falling on def ears, both in Washington and locally. I hope this election will turn the tide in the right direction, but I'm worried. My rant is over, listening to those liberal minded guys in the Chinese food line is still bugging me, and reminded me again how backwards the Northeast is.

CTcummins24V, that someone would be Tip O'Neal, former speaker of the House during the Reagan administration.  At one time, I would agree with that statement but in my opinion it is no longer true.  The culture and morality has been twisted to the point that there is almost none left.  Locally, I disagree with and in most cases loath my county elected officials.  Most of them think they are conservative however, their actions and votes say otherwise.  My neighbor is my county commissioner and he is about the only one in my opinion that has any common and fiscal sense.  He and I get along good.  The rest pretty much try to find ways to spend more money on BS we don't need or want and they try to raise taxes and find more way to get more grants to spend more money.  They always find a way to get away with it and the local populous is too lazy or stoned to even care about it or get mad.
