Headlight malfunction

My right headlight started acting up the other day in my 2000 Ram. Left works as it should high, low beam, markers etc. the right however just the marker comes on and I don't believe the bulbs are bad I think I lost my ground. Wondering where the right headlight is grounded

Head light ground is in the driver side kick panel.  Most likely either the headlight fuse is blown or the bulb is bad. Being that the headlight switch turns the ground off and on. Then the dimmer switch switches the ground for hi and lo beams.

I swapped in a new fuse, but that didn't seem to work, just seemed kind of odd that they both burned out

It does happen... I've seen a few here that have had both hi/lo beam on a single bulb burn out at the same time.

Tried a new switch today and that didn't work, broke out the multimeter and have no juice at the headlight plug, kinda lost at this point any help is appreciated

Just took the meter out again and found out that I have 12 volts when the lights are off, none when they are on. Maybe a relay or something?

No relay. 

 

Wiring diagram is above. Like I said it most likely a bad fuse. Headlight fuses are in the PDC under the hood. The dimmer switch is before the headlight switch and the headlight switch is the last item heading for ground. Red is positive and black is ground. That simple.

 

+12V -> Fuse -> Headlight Bulb <- Dimmer Switch <- Headlight switch <- Ground

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago.  I don't recall how I fixed it but the passenger side wouldn't work.  I do remember taking the headlight switch  apart and cleaning the contacts.

I think it might be the dimmer switch cause the passenger side isn't getting ground at the right time
