The wait to start should come on with each new "key on" instruction.    It will go out quickly if the intake temperature is above a certain point. If it is below that point, it will stay on until the grids fully cycle.

It comes on and stays on. And the iat should not be that cold after driving for 15 mins in 45 degrees. I don’t remember it doing that before either. Even when it was 20 degrees

Here is the FSM page.

If there is anything wrong, you may have trouble with the IAT sensor, or the ECM seeing this sensor.

Is it "staying on" all the time, or just the time that it is supposed to be on?    For me it depends on temps and what I am doing with the truck, but I can do some short trips in cold weather, and it will feel the need to cycle the grids on next start up.

Just when it’s supposed to be on. Sure seems like it wouldn’t run the grids again after 15 minutes at hwy speed. I’m pretty sure it’s never happened before...

I just went and turned the ignition on and it did not stay on. Seems like there is problems there. It came on while the engine was warm but after sitting for 45 minutes it don’t come on...
