Bad ECM or wrong vp44??

Recommended Posts

I recently put a HO pump on my SO motor and it idles at about 1100 rpm once it warms up. If you floor it it’ll idle normal. But the ECM has a few high voltage codes for sensors so I’m wondering if the 5v supply is going whack or if I need to get an SO pump to put on.

I would first make sure everything with your 5-volt supply good before I touch VP. Could be anything from a loose wire to a bad sensor, and could be any of them that share 5 volt Loop.

ECM is in control of idle, if you rev it up and it becomes normal, almost points to alternator putting out excessive AC current.

But if you were and you leaned up against an electric fence, you might understand how back feeding could occur.

I'm kinda beginning to understand but not sure how it works a 100%

If there is one charge wire going from alternator to pdc or battery, how can anything backfeed of it if nothing else is touching it.

Can someone school me on this
