New to quadzilla

So I just ordered a quadzilla iquad and my question is should I start with a daily tune that I can download from here or just make my own? I won't be using the wire tap so do I need to set the wire tap values to 0 or just leave them alone. Thanks for any help. Also got a fass coming too.

With stock Injectors and no wiretap you can start with a tune from here but I am guessing you will have to add fuel to make you happy.

 

Just run it on levels 0-3 if you don't want wiretap.

Add more fuel with the canbus fueling?  Is there anything I need to be careful of so I don't hurt anything? As in adding to much fuel. I know I need to be careful with timing.

Fueling you really can't hurt anything on stock injectors.  you could run %150 of stock from 0 psi to 30 psi and be just fine.  I call it the S03 tune lol  

as for timing it is hard to hurt anything, but all the tunes I created for the site use a safe timing curve.  The important thing is that timing retards when you get on the throttle at low rpms.  load timing and throttle reduction timing handle that.

I was thinking you were the one who made the stock injector tunes. I don't wanna roll coal at every light but I wanna get a bump in power and mostly mpg. I appreciate your help. I'll give the daily tune and tow tune a try and see what it's like.  I can't wait!

sounds good.   I never ran the New tuning on a stock injector truck so I dont have a great grasp on how much fuel you can throw at it .  

easy enough to find out, just go WOT from a stop, if you pour blakc smoke then adjust your 0psi setting down, if it is too slow and no smoke adjust 0 psi up.  Do that until you are happy, then build the rest of the tune off tthat starting point.   

 

Keep in mind you want to use your full throttle range, IE you dont want %20 to feel like WOT,  you want WOT to feel like WOT.  If you have an auto your trans will thank you.

On fueling to build a quick curve.

 

0 to 5 +1 each PSI

6 to 10 +2 each PSI

11 to 15 +3 each PSI

20 to 25 +4 each PSI

Etc.

 

Just use the starting number like @Me78569 suggest and use that to ramp it up.

What kind of cool about the Quadzilla you can play with that. Now being your are stock injectors you could always change the offset of the ramp up. Sam span of on PSI but start out 1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, etc That will change the steepness of fuel curve.

On the tow tune I got downloaded the low psi timing reduct is set to 5 which is the max. Should I back it up to like 3 or just try it at 5. That'sg timing away from the truck right? To help the turbo spool faster?  Sorry for all the questions just don't wanna hurt anything.

5 is fine.  Too little timing won't hurt.

When your retarded too deep the engine gets super quiet, power is low and the exhaust smoke becomes more white or bluish in color.

 

That particular adjustment is for when you from light to heavy throttle at low boost (less than 5 PSI).

 

Look for my article in the 2nd Gen 24V fuel section. Even Spencer liked it.

Ok! So my quadzilla came in the mail today.  27° plus 30mph wind but hey I wanted to put my new toy in. Newb question is I left the default tune set for now while I try it out. Will the high ideal kick in after the 30sec wait time? Or do I have to go in and set it? Also what is the ideal turbo timer based on egts? Thanks fellas!

High idle requires the warm up mode set. As long as the coolant is below your set temperature then high idle triggered. Now the high idle delay has to expire before high idle starts. Like myself I've got warm up set for 170 and 15 second delay.

You might find 30 seconds might feel a bit too long. 

 

As for the power mode, it will automatically lock to 0 during warm up. This causes the fuel map to be locked to 0 PSI fuel percentage. Once the warm-up temperature is exceeded then the power mode returns back to what you had set.
