Lights question

Recommended Posts

The headlights on my truck are not bright as they should be.  What would be the best way to do this. Would LED bulbs be better?  If so what all would I have to do to make this work? Just replace the bulbs or is there more involved? Is there other options that I can use? Any ideas would be appreciated .

Don't do LED bulbs. All you'll do is blind everyone. LED headlights are not designed for our headlights so the pattern shows too.

Buy a new set of clear lens headlights and install good halogen bulbs. This is the cheapest option. Or like myself I've upgraded to full Morimoto HID D2S headlights. They come with a steep price tag but worth every penny.

Since I didn't have driving lights I added a set of PIAA 530 LEDs driving lights. These little lights are brighter than the main HID headlights. Again another steep price tag but worth every penny.

Then I swapped out both tail lights and the marker lights for LEDs. Then did a switchback bulb in the front. This even adds light out there. This is optional but the front markers in the white light stag cast quite a bit of light.

I'm with Mike.  Clear lenses with HIDs & projectors. Awesome.  If on a budget, new headlight assembly with good halogen bulbs.  You can add the HIDs & projectors later. Never put LEDs in reflector lights.  You can use them in projectors tho
