I have noticed the last few days that my truck just skips 4th gear unlocked and goes straight to 4th gear lockup. Shift great and doesn't slip. Just wondering if this is normal. Soon as it goes from 3rd locked it shift to 4th locked with maybe 2 seconds of 4th unlocked. If it's in 4th locked and get on it or pull a hill it drops to 3rd locked, not 4th unlocked. Normal for everyone else or naw?

Well I guess I learned something. Instead of going by the quadzilla I should pay attention to the shifts.. it goes into 4th for about 5mph at light throttle then locks up. The quad was showing it as 3rd lockup the whole time. I just used the o/d button to rule out o/d.. oh well!

Quadzilla only maths out the shift based on the speed. If you don't have your tire size set up right then the speed shows wrong and the gear is going to show wrong.

Ahh that might be it. I need to look at that.

My transmission shifts well. It don't snap ya neck or anything but I kept noticing when I was pull a hill or slow down for a 35mph zone and speed up the quad would read 3rd gear then it would feel like it shift and say 3rd lockup until it shifted again it would read 4th lockup. I was missing the 3 to 4 shift on the quad but it was happening and I just wasn't paying enough attention.  The 3rd locked to 4th unlocked ain't much of shift compared to 4th lock up.

My truck is almost never unlocked in 4th. I've noticed a couple rare scenarios while slowing down on the highway to a slightly slower speed zone that it might unlock in 4th. That was like... Twice. Other than that, never.

Quadzilla runs off of Circumference measurement rather than rev/mile or tire height.

If you want to just pass the stock speed signal without math enter 95.7 that is the pass through number.

Now all I need is a Quad. The money for it is sitting on top of my engine block.

That was like the cheapest hg replacement, unless you're savings for better chicken coop cough it up for the quad :shifty:

$215. Gaskets

$260  Rockers

$150. Engine hoist

$350. Machine shop

$  45. Studs for exhaust manifold

$150. Misc tools and supplies

$1170 = 1.5 Quads

More savings needed. No new coops in the future either.

He got away for cheap. I was right at $2,000 with the ARP studs, machine shop (valve guides and seals), then gaskets and so forth.

No studs on mine, that saved some money. But did put the 6.7 rocker arm assemblies in. Just did not like the galling on some of the oe ones. I did get very lucky on the machine shop. I also spent about 250 bucks on some rebuilt RV's but that was my choice. Truck runs great too.

I don't even want to know how much I spend I know it was in thousands. Sorry Dave didn't mean to :poke: at you the wrong way

No problem on part. Kind of comes with the territory.

Weren't we talking about transmission shifting?
