shutter or hesitation under load

Recommended Posts

hoping someone can help me out. if I go past 25lbs boost accelerating the truck shutters hard and does not enjoy it. will make up to 40ish lbs but it hates it the whole way past 25 lbs.  doesnt seem to matter the speed I'm going and the fuel pressure stays constantly between 16psi and 20psi.  I just put the injectors in. thought it was because i didnt replac the feed tubes but i did that yesterday and it's still hating life. Please Help!

Could be your Edge comp box, seems like something is going on with boost fooling. What turbo, what injectors, what size, who did you get it from. The fact that it comes back alive around 40 ish psi tells me that the injectors are probably fine. Can you use some kind of life data tool to see what's going on, and have you checked for codes with a good code reader.

That Edge Comp isn't going to be set up for 150 HP injectors very well. I tend to agree there is something wrong with the Edge Comp box. I've got to ask was this the proper Edge Comp for this engine? You didn't modify the MAP sensor leads to make it work? Then being your missing the PCM there is no way to read error codes.

I would disconnect the Edge Comp and run without it and see if the problem goes away.

I will try to disconnect the edge box tomorrow. the box is the correct one for the drive train. I didnt have to modify any of the leads. I dont have a great code reader. but I will run it again and post what I find. it doesnt come alive at 40 psi. I was trying to say that the shutter starts around 25psi and continues right thought. I think the highest i have seen is around 40psi and it's still shuttering....

Thanks for your help so far guys!!! I'm not missing the PCM it was reinstalled when i swapped the cab. I'll run the codes and post them up tomorrow. also it's a stock turbo I hope to upgrade it soon, staying with a single.  I will also try a run with the comp box un plugged. these are the injectors I put in "DAP 150HP AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE INJECTORS 7X0.010 VCO - VP7X10VCO150A" .  I

I havnt had a chance to drive it yet.  wouldnt start yesterday.... just cranked till battery died. put it on a charger over night and fired right up this morning....  I though it was airlocked again. but apparently. not as it started this morning without cracking and lines.

these are the codes I pulled. the stock gauges are not in the truck. using dakota digital... and the fass is hardwired so I think that's why the fuel pump code.

p1687 no cluster bus message

p0463 fuel level sensor 1 circuit high

p0500 vehicle speed signal

p1693 fit in comp mdle

p0230 fuel pump primary circuit

p0336 crankshaft position sensor

P1687 and 1693 probably related. You already explained the 0230. 0336 probably explains your intermittent no-start condition.
