2001 ECM

Recommended Posts

Dripley said to seek out ACS in the Vendor Forum.  Think I'm in the right spot.  I have an 01.5 2500 Cummins 6 speed.   The cruise light has always been on.  Three shops and thousands of dollars later, I am being told to purchase a remanufactured ECM for $1500 because the ECM I have is programmed for an automatic transmission.   They say it is not the stock ECM.  What questions should I ask?  They say there is no one they know if in Northern Colorado that can re-program (my word) the ECM from automatic transmission to manual.  I'm out of my league here.  Any advice would be awesome.  Thanks!

If thats all you want done I'd contact @Smarty Support. I'm pretty sure they could do that. Really though, I don't know why it would matter. I'm running a manual engine in my auto. Maybe different trucks act differently. They can be a challenge electrically at times.
