I’ve joined the group of dead ecm’s. I had the delayed WTS light for a few years. Other than that no other problems until last week. I went to start the truck and no WTS light, no lift pump, and no start. I sent it off to Auto Computer Specialist in Florida after seeing they were recommended on here. They received it yesterday about this time. I haven’t heard anything from them yet, I figured it might be a couple days before I hear anything. Can someone who has used them give me an idea of the turnaround time?  I will post back on here how my experience goes with them.

I just got my ecm back from them last Friday. They had a back log of work so it took them about a week to even get to mine. From the time I shipped mine off and had it back in my possession it was about 2 1/2 weeks. But now my truck runs great.

Thanks Mike, I’ll let everyone know how it goes for me. Glad they got you handled well.

That is what makes this website go around. The experiences and knowledge is shared by all. This reduces the stress and guessing of where to get services and repairs done for a fair price and good turn-around time.

Guys I need a little help. It’s been so long since my ECM was working right I have forgot how it should work with the WTS light. I got my ECM back from Auto Computer Specialist today. Good turnaround time, they got it Tuesday and sent it back to me Friday. Got it back in and immediately got a WTS light. Bled fuel system and truck fired up and sounded good. I shut it off and went to restart and I got no WTS light, but the truck started just fine. I checked A/C voltage and it’s good. Is there some kind of delay when you won’t get a WTS light? It was my understanding that you should get it anytime you turned on the key?  Truck is starting fine without a WTS light it seems. A/C voltage was.017-.020. Any help appreciated.

Yes that's right BUT even more so as they get older and as parts become harder to find and as we're all herded into battery vehicles

White,

My WTS light seems to work properly, but I have noticed that if I am using the key to bump the lift pump but not allowing the engine to start (to bleed air or fill the filter), I will get funny reactions from the WTS light.  I am certain that it is a timing issue and giving it confusing instructions. (off on, bump no start, off, on, bump no start)  If I give it a few minutes when I go back it is normal.

Electric cars out here will not make it. Too far from charging stations and you'll need a diesel generator to just recharge if your stuck some where without power. We still have people out here living without city power. Just the logging industry needs diesel powered equipment and diesel trucks to bring logs to the mill. Farmers still will need diesel powered tractors and diesel trucks to haul cattle or food to the market.
