2002 cummins 2500 6 speed H.O. I need help a few weeks ago I was driving and lost fuel pressure, truck would barely idle and would cut out at 1500 rpm. I made home and it died, I have put a new ECP, PCM, vp44 and installed an air dog fuel system, new map sensor and intake temp sensor. I have been chasing wires everywhere and I haven't  found a break or rub through yet. The codes im getting are p0237 turbo boost sensor circuit low, p0237 boost pressure test failed, p1689 EGR actuator control circuit low negative side, p0112 IATS 1 circuit low bank 1, p0237 turbo boost pressure sensor circuit low ( its showing 4.98 volts), I don't know where to go from here! My older code reader says no communication between ECM and injection pump. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 The original problem you mention sounds like the lift pump died and took the VP with it. Was there a specific reason you changed the ECM and PCM? Also who rebuilt your ECM and PCM?

 

 The 237 is usually a bad MAP sensor. The 4.98 volts you are seeing is normal going into the sensors. The sensors operate on a 5 volt system. They do not make the 02 sensor any more and newer ones require a harness pigtail to put on the sensor and plug into the wiring harness. There could already be one there and I dont think the oe harness will plug onto the new sensors anyway. Worth checking if you are still getting the code. The truck should however start with a bad MAP.

 

The 1689 is the troublesome one. No communication between the ECM and the VP. Either could be bad and that would stop the truck running. Might be time for some warraty claims.

The truck kept throwing an ecm failure code, after replacing the vp44 and an upgraded fuel system it still wouldn’t start. They originally sent a pcm so I ordered an ecm and just left the new pcm on. The company was car computer exchange. I’m starting to think it’s not programmed right.

ECM rebuilding seems to be crap shoot. Replaced mine back in 09 with a lot of heart ache. We have an article on the better ones folks have used with sucess. You can hot wire the VP which takes it off of the ECM and see if you elminate the VP as the problem. Both articles can be found in articles, 24v 2nd gen, engine, and fuel. Scroll thru them they they are both there. Sorry but I cant link them with this tablet.
