So far I plan to get DOR front end, fox stabilizer, redhead steering box. & I need a 48re before to long so I might try for 1 next. Going with a PDD 48re I plan to get a minimum of the 850 trans for billet in & out. And refresh the transfer while in there & new lines/cooler.

The only reason for a DOR front end is because running over sized tire be aware that oversized tire will alter the finally ratio and might create other issues. As for the transmission I would talk to @Dynamic for transmission upgrades he's a pro at handling 46RE, 47Re and 48RE transmissions. Like my 2006 Dodge I've got to pull the 2 inch leveling kit out to correct the suspension.  Thor is my 2006 Dodge 3500 but single rear wheel.

Really want a full manual valve body, auto just does what it wants unfortunately. 

Will also get new lines & cooler for new trans @ exact same time. Dont want no problems.

alright so im saving up for a built 48re from pdd but i also plan on getting a engine rebuild kit, & some wagler street fighter, 625's & mains , loaded head, etc,  all new gaskets seals pumps hoses etc.  rebuild the 3rd gen then go threw 99 then get something else XD rinse wash repeat right? 

 

I'm at 184.5k on the trans and its always in an out of gears, binding up etc. Could adjust the bands but by around Christmas I can at least get a 550hp trans. Dpc triple disc, billet input, full rebuild. 

Plan to drive over & have it put in.

Well I still want a 6.7 but, now I'm considering just a 6.7 crank and one of those 6.7 aftermarket heads that fit both 5.9 and 6.7. Everyone tells me the 5.9 feels anemic compared to there stock 6.7 would just a 6.7 head & port help with alleviate the anemic 5.9 feeling?

Not really. The anemic feeling is due to the 49 cubic inch difference in displacement. 5.9 is a 359ci, 6.7 is a 408ci.

 

Closest would be a 6.7 crank in a 5.9. i think it comes out to like a 6.4l. (or that's the destroked 6.7s.. 6.7 bore with 5.9 crank) High performance 6.7 guys will either destroke the 6.7 with a 5.9 crank or they will add a 1 inch deck plate to the block because of the rod ratios. (rod length/stroke) Best is 1.7 and above. 6.7 is around a 1.45 ish.. Short version is it (low rod ratio) puts a lot of side thrust on the piston and can cause wear on the piston skirts. 

 

Anyway, the head should swap with no issue except for one or two coolant ports and you need special connector tubes. Just remembered we are in the 3rd gen section.. still not sure on the coolant port but everything else should bolt right in.

Welp sold my 2nd gen getting a 6.7 sooner. Thinking one of these + wagler street fighters & a loaded head & arp everything 

I still want to play with my stock 5.9 for awhile while I work on everything else.

Well.... I recently took a 400 ish mile trip and it burned or leaked out 8 quarts, 

Gunna put a new CCV and see if that helps,  saving up for a new motor anyhow, could it also be a valve seat seal that's blown off? I'd rather get an aftermarket head with thread in freeze plugs anyhow. But I don't want to spend anymore than necessary on the 5.9

This is my next move, + a 10m & 100 or 150% exergys, have alot of options for air, considering triples maybe? 

But will probably just run a s400 as a single and compound it later on
