I just received an extension warrantee notice for my '06 ( they said all Ram 1500 and 2500 models) multifunction turn signal switch. They said because of a potential manufacturing process variation process ? So to correct this, they are extending the warrantee of my 'switch' from original warrantee to 10 years or 150k, which ever comes first. Seems the exterior and interior turn signal lights CAN malfunction and flash opposite of what the operator selected. This is the first I've heard of this. And in all the years I've own vehicles and have known people have own vehicles, I have never heard of this.Anyone had this problem ?

Right after I bought my '06, I called Dodge to see if there were any outstanding recalls and was told about this one. Good till 2016 or 150K on the odometer.

That's why I was surprised when I received the notice. I never had issues with them and it never crossed my mine that there was problems for some owners. Actually, I can't remember any issue of that kind with any vehicle I owned.

It is the notorious TIPM failure in the '06 model year, that is driving this notice from Dodge. It doesn't apply to other years. If it hasn't failed it will. Mine took out the starter when it went and left me stranded on the side of the road. Should you have an issue, it is known by Dodge that the TIPM failure can take the starter with it. Or the starter will take out the TIPM when it goes. T otally I ntegrated P ower M odule is Dodge speak for the fuse box.

Can you email me the letter if you still have it? I did not receive one. Thanks. The Hunter hntrthmsdudley@gmail.com

All you need to do is call your Dodge dealer and give them the VIN code. They can then tell you if you truck is part of the recall. The catch is, it has to be malfunctioning for them to fix it. They will not replace until it breaks.
