Ok guys I have a chance to buy a 2002 HO 5.9 with low mileage and was wondering if any of you know if a 2002 will fit where my 2001 5.9 was? Will the wiring reconnect correctly and will it fit my 47RE?:ahhh:Please advise me!!:doh:

I'm also interested in this. When they were trying to find a replacement for my 99 53 block engine they tried one from (they believe) an 01 or 02. This one didn't have the crank sensor.

Someone else told me they think the ECM wont be compatable??:shrug:

you will have no problem,s put it in and you will be good to go

I agree with TH Racing... There will be no problems mechanical with installing... It will bolt right up. As for the ECM I would use your current ECM and just swap it to the new engine.

First thing and really the only thing that comes to mind is that the MAP sensor plugs will be different shapes but thats pretty minor! lol-Jordan-

The H.O. has 17:1 compression the standard has 16:1. Iirc the vp pumps are also different. Other than that you are good to go.

Agreed, use the 02 long block and 01 sensors/wiring/ECM.
