Recommended Posts

Ok guys I have a chance to buy a 2002 HO 5.9 with low mileage and was wondering if any of you know if a 2002 will fit where my 2001 5.9 was? Will the wiring reconnect correctly and will it fit my 47RE?:ahhh:Please advise me!!

I'm also interested in this. When they were trying to find a replacement for my 99 53 block engine they tried one from (they believe) an 01 or 02. This one didn't have the crank sensor.

I agree with TH Racing... There will be no problems mechanical with installing... It will bolt right up. As for the ECM I would use your current ECM and just swap it to the new engine.

The H.O. has 17:1 compression the standard has 16:1. Iirc the vp pumps are also different. Other than that you are good to go.

Agreed, use the 02 long block and 01 sensors/wiring/ECM.
