A good quality degreaser, let it soak for a few, and a low pressure wash will do just fine. May have to do it twice. Stay away from the air filter and make sure the engine is cool. You wont hurt a thing. When I was into 4wheeling I washed the engine bay down after every run to keep the mud build up down and inspect everything before the next outing.
