Possibly a VP 44, your injection pump?

AH! that and auto spell makes sense. The answer, if that is the OP's question, is most decidedly, NO. The VP44 computers, as described by Mr. Nelson, are calibrated to the pump itself and not usually replaceable without being re-calibrated. Some local shops have mentioned putting a new computer on a failed pump to save a few bucks, but personally, I'd much rather spend the additional $300-400 and get a whole re-manufactured pump.

Your 01 should have the later computer. The story is that HEAT is what causes VP44 computer failure & the latest versions like ours has a larger heat sink inside. I've always wondered why there isn't a finned cover or the same for the case to aid cooling. Like you, I have very low miles.

What is wrong with k&n ?

Click the link above... They are just a poor filter and pass way too much dust and dirt.

K&N - Take notice that amount of dust, dirt and oil.

BHAF - Take notice there is no dust, no dirt and no oil.
