DIY: Lockup Switch install into Gear Selector Arm

Recommended Posts

The lock up switch works great with an exhaust brake, but I advise you should have s billet flexplate and input shaft. Not having them is risking serious damage to the transmission pump and torque converter.

While I only had an untapped comp and a Dunrite VB I ran mine with stock trans for at least 6 years and had no issues in that time including shifting locked towing.  Did not have it with stock VB so that may be different.

I would highly recommend a momentary switch for the lockup.  It is VERY nice to have it only lockup when your pushing the button.

Even though I would love to automate 2nd gear lockup, and I am actively working on it,  I can manually shift 1-4 controlling lockup in 2-4 without issues.  2nd locked is a monster.
