i came a cross an old thread on CF discussing pros and cons of the nv5600. the only thing unusual in it was a single post by someone stating you should only use an exhaust brake in 5th gear. no mention as to why or any responses to the post. i am just wondering if any of you have ever heard of any reason not to use an ebrake on a nv5600.

I'm looking at a jacob brake off a 2001 5 spd with the HX35. Wondering if this will fit my 02 6 spd , and also wanted you guys to look at the pics here and tell me if it looks like it's everything here:shrug:. Seller says it doesn't have a switch with it for inside the cab because he's using it for lights now, so wondering if i can just use a normal toggle switch..and if there's anything else that doesn't look like it's there. He said something about a 4 wire mini harness that runs into the cab and connects to the factory harness ? Any ideas on that one. Also, I have the 4" MBRP turbo back which appears to be 3 1/2 " at the flange then expands out right away to the 4 " hooked to my stock turbo , the pic of this doesn't look like alot of room between the flange and the canister on the brake for the pipe to fit on...look normal?

I am wondering if there is anybody here with an exhaust brake on a 2nd gen with automatic tranny? Do they work good together? There are transmission controls available that lock the torque convertor while braking but do they only lock up in overdrive and drive, or in gears below that? I've been trying to cut through the clutter on everything that's available but not having much luck. Hopefully someone here can help me out. Also what's the best brand to be looking at? Thanks!

well this morning my check engine light came on so i cycled the key and came up with the P0122 and P01693 i know the 0122 code has to do with the TPS which would make sense as i was bugging moparman last night trying to trouble shoot my exhaust brake not working and started digging into the APPSi guess i could start by clearing the code and seeing if it comes back..correct? it may have thrown it when i was digging in the apps? or maybe i screwed something upalso.. mopar i forgot to mention maybe like 8 months ago i did have a dead pedal issue but i think it was a bad connection on my edge plug where it ties into the map sensor with the Y.this same time is also when it first started beeping the crazy speed warnings and it did it ALOT at that time i thought the edge was completely screwed up and i disconnected it to send it back and then decided to plug it back in to give it one more try and the dead pedal was gone...has worked ever since except once in awhile it yells at me that im doing 100+ mph when im doing like 30 maybe its not my edge though.... maybe its my ecm since the exhaust brake didnt work before the edge was put in and the wires all work properly except the red on going into the ecm

Id like to put an exhaust brake on my 04 but it has an automatic transmission. I know on the 06s that they can come factory to accept a jacobs brake because the ecm keeps line pressure higher or something like that. So heres my question I have already wired up a tc lock up switch when I get an aftermarket tc and a valve body is this enough to handle an exhaust brake? Or should I just invest in say like a bd or ats transmission that says that it will accept an exhaust brake

i am going to put an exhaust brake on my truck. since i have had a Banks stinger plus on it for 5 years i am leaning towards the banks brake. cost is about 1k and should install easily. it has a warm up feature that keeps the brake close on start up until water temp hits 125 or you step on the throttle. seen alot of yall talking about e brakes but never about banks. my stinger has worked great since i put it on 5 years ago. ay opinions?

1999 2500, 4X4 auto stock... 147K, inherit from Step Dad. Truck sat for about 4 yrs, monthly starting.PacBrake isnt actuating. I can assume it could have frozen (rusted linkage) or a relax/vaccuum issue. Ideas to check? I'm getting light on the powered dash switch, so its alittle more than a grounding issue. Can I disconnect linkage and action it loose?

How hard is it to install a PAC Brake? Think I may be buying one, after I got reading I wonder if I bit off more than I can chew with the install
