Hey has anyone had problems with reading error codes with a ScanGauge II? I'm kind of wondering about this. Being that I got one and had a guy stop me and ask about error codes on his 2001 Dodge Cummins. Well I did the scan with the SG II and came up with only 1 code a P0216 (yeah the death code). But the owner asked me if there was a way to do it without a scanner? So I should hime the key trick... Guess what??? The SG II missed a bunch of codes!!! PPCU - P1693, P0500, P1682 PECU - P0522, P0523, P0216, P1693... :ahh: Felt like a dumb arse standing in front of a guy with a tool I swear by that missed the entire boat load of codes... So have any of you had this occur with other readers or with your SG II?

man, this thing is AWESOME, so many different parameters can be shown, i found out from it that my TPS needed to be reset, so, i did that....also, for w/e reason, at idle, the MAP thing shows like 30, i don't know if that's good or bad...:confused anyway, here are some pics of where i mounted it and a couple vids of it in action... LOVE that fuel mileage... :hyper :D vids..... gotta wait about a week till i get to around 1/4 of a tank so i can calibrate it all the way right....

For 99 owners, where did you tap for your fuel line to gauge. My filter housing doesn't have anything on bottom to tap into like Mike's does. All I have on filter housing is the inline from the lift pump and the out line to the IP, both are on top of the filter housing. Also there are 2 capped ports on top, sorry no pics right now. Is the out line to the IP where I would thread in my tapped banjo bolt for the fuel line. Also, is it okay to run braided line all the way to mech. gauge, don't want isolator. Plan on doing the needle valve setup. Will braided line go into the gauge, i.e. will it thread into the port on the gauge itself, or do I have to do the nylon tubing kit. Thanks.

Hello, just joined the other day but member of CF also; my first post here.A buddy of mine at work is offering to sell me his SGII for $100. So far most of the functions seem to work. I have all the correct engine and fuel data, etc. set up. Completed 2 fillups. The SGII website recommends to set up the gauges to read the following for monitoring fuel economy: XX.XAVG X.X GPHXX.XMPG X.XX TFCI cannot seem to get to the avg mpg or tfc gauge while in the gauge section...Also, when in the mpg gauge, I just watched the MPG jump around from 16 on up to 350 mpg (I wish). I double checked my settings to verify, all was correct. Is the SGII itself faulty, or am I doing something wrong?Should I reset all the settings to default and start from scratch, or should I just do something different than what I'm doing now? Thanks in advance for any tips/help, etc.WatieI just saw need to edit my sig for my truck, but for time being it's a1999 2500 4X4, all stock, 2nd lift/VP44, 265 75/16 tiresQuad Cab, Short Wheel Base

so i've had this thing for several months now and after a month or so of flawless working, it decided to screw up on mefor some odd reason, it won't show the water temp, IAT, and a few other things i forgetand before you ask, no i haven't tried it on another vehicle....but i don't think the problem is w/ my truck, because the water temp does show on the gaugeand just to say it...i did the gasser HP X gauge on mine, the only X gauge i have, and it seems to be pretty accurate...my motor is totally stock, and it read 230 HP in direct(4th gear) which seems about right for a motor w/ 139k that originally had 235....

Hey guys, just wondering what boost readings you all are getting when using scangauge 2, and edge comp, i get like 14psi boost showing on scangauge after changing map sensor with a genos garage unit, old one read .-0.7 at idl, and would track slightly behind actual shown on isspro gauge, new one tops out at 22psi on scangauge. Thanks

Hello All I have a Scangauge. I am wondering how accurate the boost reading is compared to a mechanical gauge. .....edit.... Ok, I just had another thought......So let me backtrack a bit.....I just bought a PowerPuck and an Quadzilla boost fooler (it plugs inline with the MAP sensor). I also just made a adjustable boost elbow and I do NOT have a mechanical boost gauge. At this point I have been watching my boost pressure via my ScanGauge. As my truck is unmodified the need to watch it at this point is for curiosity and MPG reasons only. I am planning on installing the newer goods today/this weekend, but I am now wondering if the Quadzilla boost fooler will alter my ScanGauge boost reading? Thoughts?? Thanks. I thought I would pass on some info for everyone! I had been talking to Mike "mopar1973man" about adding the scangauge II to my truck, but I am already using the OBDII port to run my Edge Attitude with Juice CTS! Mike an I messaged eachother back and forth, while Mike came up with a feasible idea of hard wiring another OBDII port into the truck, but with unknown an unforseeable issues! I called Scangauge and talked to a lady that was very helpful, explained to her that I needed the OBDII port to run my edge, but I also wanted to run their ScanGaugeII, after a few minutes on hold, she came back with the info on a site that has a "Y" adapter giving you the option of running to ports at once! I ordered the "Y" adapter and the ScanGauge II and will let you know how well it works out! The website she gave me was. http://www.obd2cables.com/products/obd-cables/obd-ii-cables/cable-j1962m-to-2-j1962f-y-cable-1ft.html The cable is very reasonable priced, I ordered my for $13.95 plus FedEx ground for $7.77 so a total of $21.72 I don't believe my nerves could have handled wiring in another port or finding one off a salvage vehicle and then wiring it in would be that cheap! Just thought I would pass this tidbit information on! Jason p.s. Thanks Again Mike "Mopar1973Man":smart:

I didn't know where else to put this so, this is as close as i get it to the topic. I was reading through the code list thread and for testing it says "With DRBIII Scan Tool". How do i get my hands on such an expensive tool like that when they are priced over what i can afford? Are there other scan tools like this one that maybe Snap-On, Matco, or Mac Tools has?I'd really like to get my hands on one of these and have been wanting one for a while now. Thanks,Dave
