Posted February 5, 201213 yr My Dell monitor went black today. If I shut it down and re start it the short cut icons show up for about 3 seconds and then the screen goes black again.Is it fixable or time for a new one.................
February 5, 201213 yr Being that you start to show signs of life on restart I would assume that it is in fact not the monitor and rather the video adapter in the computer. If at all possible try connecting the monitor to another computer and see if it functions.This could be caused by either a video card hardware failure or something could be wrong / conflicting with the device driver.
