All. Need some advice. I just put a 93 engine into my 90 truck. Engine sat for 4 years. I’ve got a steady drip from the top of the pump where the throttle shaft goes vertically into to the pump. There is a bit of play back and forth. What can I do to fix that ? Is there just an O ring on there? I believe it’s also sucking air as when I start my engine it wants to race. photo attached
  3. John , thanks for your input. I figured out my problem. I decided to hell with it and just start it. I did. It ran 10 seconds and still no guage pressure, turned it off went out front for more contemplation and saw a gallon of oil on the ground. I left a plug out that’s behind the power steering pump. Plugged the hole hole, all is well. going to start a new thread about my pump leak.
  4. I’m going to try to reverse pressurize the bearings with oil. Done it on other engines on start up. We’ll see what happens. Likely gotta pull the pan. I’m suspicious of condensation on the bottom of the pan after sitting for 4 years and the pick up screen is gunk
  5. Thanks for your reply. I engine bought the engine from a Cummins Mechanic he went through it 4 years ago , did all the seals and gaskets and set the valves. Oil was fresh 4 years ago and motor hasn’t run since. Engine was said to have low 300km on it. also , I now have a leak on the injection pump coming out from the top side of the housing where the throttle shaft goes vertically into the pump. Is there a seal I need to replace? Paul
  6. Ok. Found the sensor. I pulled it and no oil on the tip after many minutes of cranking. Tried cranking with the sensor out and no flow. Any suggestions?
  7. Where is the oil pressure sensor located? I think it’s infront of the fuel filter in the block on an angle , but not sure if that’s if. I put a 93 into my 90 truck and I’m not getting pressure while cranking. would like to know if the sensors are the same for 90 and 93
  8. Thanks for the reply. My trans has two shafts. An inner and an outer. The pump drive is easy to see to get the notches to line up, but I can’t get the torque converter on far enough to engage.
  9. I’m putting in a 93 engine in my 90 2wd auto pickup. I accidentally removed the torque Converter from the trany. I for the life of me can’t get it back on. I’m pretty sure I’ve moved the splines on the input shaft. Do I need to get an alignment tool. I’ve been at it for three hours now. 🥵
