  1. Truck had about 1700 miles since adding the Gel when I sold it. I told the new owner everything, and even pulled up this thread and let him read it. I asked him to keep in touch and let me know how it worked out, but that's been a few weeks ago and I haven't heard from him since he drove away, so I doubt he will follow through. Is Cer-Tech Gel snake oil ? Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that it worked on this particular truck, or at least it appears to have worked. There was no smell or visible smoke from blowby on the day I sold the truck. If you laid the oil cap on the engine with it running, it would still cause it to rattle and jump a little, but it wouldn;t blow it off the top of the motor anymore. I wouldn't recommend using it just for the quick sell of a truck, That's bad business and can bring all kinds of bad Ju-Ju, and if you do sell, make sure to tell the buyer. In fact, I wouldnt' recommend using it at all unless you are fully prepared to shell out the cash for a complete rebuild, in that case you'll have nothing to loose other than the money you spend on the Gel. If you do use it, by all means let folks know how it works out. All that having been said, I hope this thead was helpful. Thanks to all that commented.
  2. just over 1300 miles since using the Gel, and all is still well. My fuel mileage has dropped a little, but to be honest I may be driving a little more aggressively. I'm ready to take the dive and rebuild if I need to, so I'm going to test this stuff to the fullest. I have seen very slight wisps of white smoke coming from the blowby tube while idling at normal temp, but the wisps are spuradic and nothing even remotely close to the chugging I had before using the Gel. I won't keep bugging everybody by posting every week, but anybody who wants know the current progress can email me at rwc779@gmail.com and I'll be happy to let you know how it's going. I'm not quite ready to call this stuff a miracle cure, but I have to admit that at this early stage of the game it appears to be all Cer-Tech claims it to be. Thanks to all who replied, and feel free to email me if you want to know how it's going.
  3. I was about ready to shell out 5 grand for a complete engine rebuild, so I figured Why Not ? and I popped for the $177 bucks for Cer-Tech Gels kit. I followed the instructions to the T, adding 1 tube of Gel, driving about 100 miles and then adding the other 3 tubes. It's been a little over 900 miles now, and the blowby is gone. No more white smoke coming from underneath my truck, No more burnt oil smell when I shut it down and open the door to slide out. You might ask how long it will last ? That's a good question. The rep I talked to at Cer-Tech when I bought it claims it will last up to 100 thousand miles, but it will take years for me to put that many miles on my truck so the jury will remain out for now. If your dealing with Blowby, your going to have to make the call on your own on this one, but I will tell you that it seems to have worked for me.
  4. My air will actually change from Dash to Defroster, and even to the floor vents, but I have to fiddle with the knobs for several minutes to get to change. I was told it was likely a vacuum leak, and that the vacuum pump was electric, only to find out later that the 03's dont even have a vacuum pump, everything is electrical.

UPDATE: Thanks MoparTechnician, your 06 manual is dead on even though my truck is an 03. The sensor is part of the door latch and is not repairable. I didn't have time to remove the door panel and look around today, but it is definitely either a broke wire or the latch is bad and will have to be replaced. I have to work for the next few days (12 hour shifts) so I'll have to wait until next week to go into the door and check it out. Thanks for your help.

The wiring harness is in a rubber boot inside the jam. That's my bad, I thought you were saying their should be wires in the door jam. I wiggled the boot but nothing happened. I'm starting to wonder if could be a fuse, but that won't explain why they work when the other 3 doors are opened. I've got a buddy coming by today that knows a little about this kind of stuff, If we figure out anything I'll post it here.

I can't find any wiring in the drivers door jam, I've looked everywhere. There's no switch, no sensor, and no wiring in any of the door jams, yet the 2 lights on the overhead console work when any of the other 3 doors are opened.

I've been fixing up a 2003 Dodge Dually that I bought awhile back, and I finally got around to some of the little nit picky things. Now I'm trying to figure out a problem with my interior lights. The dome light in the center of the cabin don't work at all. I checked the bulb and it doesn't look blown, but I'm going to replace it tomorrow to be certain. The 2 lights on the overhead console work by the switch or when any door desides the Drivers door opens, but they don't do anything when the Drivers door opens. I looked for a switch or sensor on the drivers door, but can't find anything, in fact I can't find anything on any of the doors (but the lights work on when any of the other 3 doors opens.) Anybody got any suggestions ?
  9. I just found a website that claims to have a product that will fix Blowby without ever turning a wrench. This is my first Diesel engine, and I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about them. Any Thoughts ? http://shop.certechgels.com/category-s/1822.htm
  10. I have an 03 dually with the 5.9 Cummins and 6 spd manual. There is some blowby, not bad but enough to notice it when the truck is idling and you look under the front. I found some seals and an open ended ring in the dash pocket when I bought he truck, I wonder if the turbocharger seals were changed and not put back right, and if that is causing my blowby. (See the bottom cause in the chart) Anybody have any thoughts on this ?
  11. I have an 03 one ton dually 2wd SLT. The overhead console where miscellaneous readouts like compass, fuel mileage, current outside temperatue, etc... gives eratic readings. Example: Today the outside temp was showing 130 degrees Farenheight, but it was actually around 50 degrees. It's not a big deal, I can just turn the whole thing off and it don't bother me as bad, but if someone else has had this problem and knows an easy fix, I'll give it a try. Thanks.
  12. My problem is not just the vents, it's also the Temp control. I have to cycle the switch several times to get it to start blowing warm air. Is it likely that I have 2 seperate problems, or possible that both are caused by a single problem. P.S. I hate to keep beating a dead horse on this, but after the different responces so far, I don't know any more than I did when I started. I'm fairly certain now that my problem is electrical, but I have no idea what to do about it.
  13. Would that cause the vents not to switch from Dash to Defroster/floor and vise versa ?
  14. I've got a 2003 2wd Dually with the 5.9 High Output Cummins and 6 speed Trans. My problem is that when I try to change the vents from Dash to Foot or Defroster (or any combination) they don't change, it just keeps blowing out the Dash vents. I can turn the blower off and cycle the vent controls all the way in both directions and sometimes it will cause it to switch to one or the other. Also, the Hot/Cold switch has the same problem. It will be blowing cold air but I can cycle the switch several times back and forth and finaly a hear thud sound and it starts to blow warm air. I've been told it was caused by a vacuum leak, then I took it to guy who supposedly knows about these things and he said it was all electric and that my truck doesn't even have a vacuum pump on it. My questions are this: 1. Do my climate controls run off vacuum ? A. If yes, then where the h@#l is the vacuum pump ? B. If no, then what do you think is causing my problem ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
