I tried unplugging my Boost sensor (map sensor) after reading it would make for some good smoke. I was going to do a smoke switch but figured I would try that to see if it did anything before putting in the switch and having not work. I figured if I set a code I would just clean it out with my Hypertech Hyperpac. Truck ran bad and set a code. I scanned and found 2 codes. The first was low/no boost signal (duh!) and 1693. I found that one means it set a code in both PCM and ECM. I cleared the first code but the 1693 keeps showing up. So now I found out my programmer doesn't clear the PCM. I key on/key off and find codes 0500 and 1694, I don't know how long those codes have been there because I just found out that you can key/ key off these trucks ( I thought that only worked on older stuff). Do these codes affect the way the truck runs and fuel mileage? It seems to me my truck runs best and mileage is best when no codes show in the ECM. How do I get rid /fix them. The truck seems to run ok right now but I haven't driven much yet. Thanks

I got a guy that has been in touch with me by email and been trying to figure out his CCD Bus problems. So far nothing I suggested works. Currently he can see the 2.5 and 2.4 vold bias voltage at the OBDII port he's only got the ECM and PCM plugged in to the bus all other modules (Radio, ABS, AirBag, etc.) are unplugged to try and isolate the problem. But still it will not communicate... The engine will start and run... Tachometer functions but all other gauges are dead. No AirBag or ABS lights... But unable to read error codes at all. I'm hoping one of you might have an idea...

Hey guys, need some help with and 01 2500 4x4 reg. cab 151000mi. my first problem is with the track bar. Bought a truck from an auction, had no track bar. On a budget so went to advance auto parts got an oe track bar, truck has a leveling kit on. Anyway the ball joint end that attaches at the frame doesn't seem to seat correctly its like there just not enough slack in the ball joint. Am I doing something wrong or am I fighting the leveling kit and need and adjustable track. Really thought its would work with just a leveling kit? Tryed everything I can think of it just will not seat correctly you can get the nut started but it dont lay flat if that makes sense. Second problem and the worst is the no bus, no gauges, truck still runs, trans acts like it taking off in a higher gear, no link to pull codes. Did the cluster test get a 920 , 921, 999. I have check the grounds, checked the bus bolt under the fuse cover, check the big harness under the dash. I have unplugged all the sensors except the crank sensor and checked that way. Like I said I am on a tight tight budget and seem to me the pcm is bad want to check everything before buying a pcm. Also if you guys think its the pcm where is the best place to buy on the cheap. Thanks Guys

Ive been having this problem for months now with my '99 Dodge . It comes and goes, but what happens is all my gauges quit working, "Nobus" shows in the odometer, the truck quits charging, it shifts funny. Me and my buddy have been all thru this truck, all the grounds are good, I checked the plug in the fuse box thats under the hood, and I checked the ignition switch. The code I get from the OBD is P1698 and if I do the Actuator test for the insturment cluster I get codes 920 and 921. (when this truck was at another garage they had the pcm off and opend the back of it) Anyway im positive its the pcm thats bad, and im going to order a new one monday unless someone here thinks im wrong, so any one have any other opionions?

I did some tinkering on my truck this afternoon and now it won't start. Got these codes 0123, 1765, 1694. Can someone tell me what they mean or is there a chart somewhere on here that I can look on? The only thing I did that I think could have affected it starting was move the power and ground wires that I had on the battery connections over to the terminals in the PDC. These were power/ground for the Airdog and ground wires for the Suncoast APPS ground; which I wish I'd never done.

So yesterday I was driving in winter like conditions, busted through two snow drifts, shortly after that my dash went dead except the tach. 'No bus' was displayed in the odometer and my over head consol had 'CCd'. I was able to get to a small town only about 70 miles from home before the batteries gave out. I just put on an ecm and pcm from a 99 manual, so I am not sure if the ecm gave out or if it might be an electrical issue? I tried to read the codes with my Smarty but it seems that it can not find the ecm, it just keeps telling me to turn the key off then turn the key on. I do have a down load on the Smarty so I am also wondering if the ecm is toast is there any way to unlock the Smarty with since it is vin locked to the ecm? Any help or advise will be appreciated. I was able to get the truck home today, so I will be able to charge the batteries and tinker with it in my spare time. Thanks, Jonathan.

This truck has been at a garage for 4 months, its been torn apart, scattered and ignored, you get the idea. The garage said they couldn't get the codes and they didnt know what was wrong with it, I finally got it home and kinda got it togeather. When I took it to the carage it would idle, but not much more, now it wont even start...... Last night I finally got the codes off my truck, there are 12 of them as follows: P0121- tps voltage does not agree with map P0122- throttle pos sens volt low P0243- turbo boost limit exceeded P0236- map sensor too high too long P0351- fuel inj pump fuel valve feedback circ P0252- fuel inj pump fuel valve stuck P0253- fuel inj pump fuel valve open circ P0380- glow plug circuit perf P0382- intake air heater relay no2 ctrl circ P1688- Internal fuel inj pump cont failure P1689- no comm between ecm and inj pump mod P1698- no ccd/j1850 msg from tcm/pcm ( I got the DTC codes from edgeproducts.com) Id hazzad a guess that my VP44 is toast, but today I changed the battery cuz the one was dead, and I figured I'd clear the codes and read them again, just for fun....Any way my OBD2 now says "Link Error" and my odometer is saying "no bus" If I turn the key on just enought for the trouble lights to come on they will all come on, then they all go out, then the odometer flashes 4X and the odometer reads "no bus" then the check engine light comes on. I checked that one big plug in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side and the bolt in it wont tighten down all the way, almost like its stipped out, and it has a little bit of play in the plug, but not a ton. I also found what I think is a ground wire, its black and comes kinda off of the lip of the cowl more towards the passanger side of the truck, but im not sure where the other end should attach, it looks like it should go to the one bolt on the pcm but im not sure. The lift pump cycles, im getting fuel to the injector pump and up to the injectors, the motor will turn over good but, but hasnt started. Any help at all, any suggestions, esp how to get rid of the "no bus" code would be really appreciated, at least with the no bus code gone I could read the OBD codes.

I have an '01 Dodge diesel 3/4 ton that I rebuilt the engine on and it started right up after bleeding the fuel lines it started right up and ran fine. One of the batteries was dead and I replaced it tonight and went to start it up it just turned over like it wasn't getting any fuel. The overhead display read "CCD" and the engine light was on. The scanner pulled P0122 and P1698 codes. P0122 looks like throttle positon sensor and I can't find the P1698. Could replacing a battery killed the TPS sensor or was it just coincidental? I'd appreciate any assistance or insight anyone has on this.

He posted his question to the wrong place so I will post what he put so he might have some responses when he gets back.2002 2500 cummins 4x4 starts and runs good says no bus and overhead says ccd truck goes in limp mode solutions???
