I know the 98+ trucks are idiot gauges and the 97- trucks are supposed to have "real" readings but what exactly are your alls gauges saying? And for those of you with mechanical gauges, what do they say in comparison to stock gauge? I started my truck up and got 90psi at around 800rpm, and 35F engine block. As it warmed up I was seeing lower numbers and after running a few minutes was down in the 70's. As you can see, the gauge in the cab hardly moved, and of course is no where near actual pressures..

Just curious what everyone is seeing for oil pressure. I'm seeing 60-70 idle cold engine, 25-40 idle warm engine and 50-60 cruising down the highway.

I know I have read this before but here goes anyway. My old motor ran around 40 plus on the oil pressure, new motor runs on the edge of the next mark up. A big diff. from before, and I know it could be the sending unit which I can swap out sence I have a new one on my old motor. What would the next mark up be? And where does your gauge run?

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge from another project that I want to use on the 05. I know the port on top of the oil filter housing will work but I'm using a needle valve. It wont fit because there's a hose right next to it. Is there any other port I can use? Thanks,Eugene
