Posted October 30, 201014 yr Does anyone know how many ft/lbs to torque the bolts to on the engine adapter flexplate and torque converter? Thanks:thumbup2:
October 30, 201014 yr Author Thanks a bunch. I looked all over trying to find it and had no luck. I figured i could get some help here. This is an awesome forum.
October 30, 201014 yr Well now I am finding 30 ft lbs for convertor housing to engine23 ft lbs for torque converter to flex plateI would use these as the 55ft lbs was from ATS.
October 30, 201014 yr Yeah it is really sparse info out on the net about 1st gen flex plates. That one should be right though as they specifically said it was for a 1st gen flex plate. Other one was for aftermarket ATS stuff. Sorry about the screwup :banghead:
October 30, 201014 yr Author oh thats all right. What i'm doing is putting an allison from a 2nd gen engine on a 1st gen engine. Do you think the torque specs for the dodge adapter and torque converter will work?
October 30, 201014 yr Not sure on that one. I take it you found that allison out of something other than a dodge The specs might work but I am really not sure about that. Might have to wait a few hours for the ones who will know to wake up..
October 30, 201014 yr Author Yeah i'm repowering a Frieghtliner roll back tow truck with a little older engine i had. Sorry i should of mentioned that in the beginning. Thanks for your help. If i cant find any other info on the allison i'll just use the specs you gave me. I think it will work.
