I have acer computer and I replaced the harddrive cause the harddrive crashed. Well when I replaced it and hooking it back up. When booting the computer to install the windows xp it stops at verifying pool date...... What does that mean? I couldn't find another 160gb harddrive so i had to get a 300+ gb hardrive.

Apparently Foxconn didn't want to put there name on that motherboard. The N15235 number on the board goes back to FoxConn but I can quite seem to get the exist board I've come close with 2 models though...

Wait for Mike :lol3: I am only good at the identification game.. I guess it doesn't matter which model it is if your flashing the bios, all of them apply.. http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/downloads.aspx?ProductModel=P4M800P7MB-RS2H&TypeID=en-us0000001 Motherboard/socket 939/click the first model (6800K8MA-RS) Then the bios list will show that it work's on any of those models..

Do you know which one it is for motherboard manual? Does the motherboard manual have how on updating the flash bios?

Edited by davbell22602

All of those use the same manual. I am downloading it so I can maybe find the differences between them all. Usually they have subtle differences, basically it's the same as a truck with different seat colors, same truck, different feature..Geez, don't wait for me. Download rate is way down. It will be an hour or more..

Alright, this is yours. 6150K8MA-8EKRS 100% sure.

What files do I download the motherboard update or flashing bios or both?

have you gone into the bios and selected "auto" for that hard drive? raid option should not be enabled. try a different sata port or another computer to verify the drive is good. if drive is good.....sounds like a bad controller.

I have another acer tower thats aspire t180 but the one that harddrive issues is with a aspire t160. What about testing the 300 gig harddrive on the t180?

Is there difference between the acer aspire t160 and t180?

  • Author

I used a 164gb out of a acer aspire t180 and put it in this t160 thats been having problems with a 300gb. All its doing is rebooting itself but harddrive worked fine from of the t180. I guess this this means bad controller.

What do you mean rebooting, is it starting windows and then rebooting, or stuck in the bios boot up screen? If it is getting any where with windows it is reading the hard drive, but I doubt it would finish on different hardware? If not, the controllers are very cheap, I added one to my Dell, cause I needed a 3rd SATA port for my RAID and a SATA CD/DVD Burner.
