  1. Not sure if this helps now.... but stock timing on a Marine engine is 20° BTDC.... So setting it to 27° BTDC is nothing irregular.... With Marine pistons, you will see crazy EGTs with your stock timing...
  2. I got my HX60 from the scrap bin of a local Cummins dealer...rebuilt it, i suppose each Cummins dealer scraps about a dozen of these each week, depending on the size of each dealership...You will find these HX60 on Cummins N11s !You can also get HT or HY60 on the same application but these do not work well in a compound setup because they rotate backwards...
  3. Simple, just get a HX40 ;)I'm running a HX40 over a HX60... makes decent power and with a 4k GSK i hardly notice the tiny lag the HX40 has over the HX35...HX40 is worth the hundreds of bucks they cost ;) compared to many other thousands of bucks...
  4. I suggest you use Castrol.... Their oils have proven to be worthy of anything from RaceCars to high end German automobiles...Castrol is used on Mercedes Actros trucks from factory and even Scanias from factory in Sweden..I use 10w60 TWS in my truck, no problems... and it runs a lot smoother than it did before with rotela 10w40...
