  1. Must have gotten a defective part. Warrantied that one out and bought a new one from O'Reilly's and it works perfectly now!! Thanks for the advice
  2. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 5.9 Diesel. After I drive it 8-10 miles the check engine light comes on and the tachometer bounces up and down. Sometimes it goes down to zero and stays there. Other times it responds like it's supposed to. While it does this the engine "power surges", it cuts out and loses power but doesn't die. Other times it gains power......when you get down on it sometimes the tachometer responds like it's supposed to but the vehicle doesn't gain any power, not falling on it's face but not responding. It's not the throttle postion sensor because the tachometer responds. The codes I keep getting are: P1693 P1694 P0123 P1690 P0336 I have cleared them several times and they come back almost immediately. Idk if it has anything to do with the computer, but does it have a PCM, ECM or both?? Anyone have any ideas on why it's doing this?? I forgot to mention that I replaced the crnkshaft position sensor earlier today and it didn't change any of the trucks behaviors.
  3. I was told that they don't have a fuel pump, just a CP3 pump on the front. After the dealer told me it was in the tank I dropped the fuel tank, only to find that there was no fuel pump in there......
  4. I have a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4x4. I drove it to the store a couple days ago, it was running fine on the way there and back, but when I got home I killed it and it wouldn't start back up. I can get it started with starting fluid but it won't idle. I cant find the fuel pump on it either. The repair manual says it's a frame mount, the Chevrolet house said it was in the tank. I dropped the tank and it was not there. Can anyone give me any ideas what's going on?
  5. A friend of mine has a 2013 Ford F-350, his son put gasoline in the tank. He had a half tank of diesel and he filled it up with gas. It is making a clattering noise. Can I just drain the tank and change filters or is it a total loss. The guy at the ford house says that they have to put a new motor in it. Anyone know?
  6. I am replacing the fuel injectors in a 2008 Duramax diesel... How hard is it to do? I was told that you had to pull the heads to do it. Any suggestions before I start?

I have a 1996 F350 with a 7.3 diesel engine. When it first starts it makes a loud rattling noise and it is slow to accelerate. When you push on the gas instead of ahooting up to 3500 rpms it crawls. After it warms up the rattling noise stops and it accelerates fine. Does anybody have any ideas what could cause this?
  8. It has a distributor not ignition coils......I was thinking it might be the coil though...
  9. I have a 1999 Chrysler Sebring. I am getting pulse to the fuel injectors but am not getting fire to the plug wires.... Any ideas what it could be? I checked the crank sensor, it was good. The scanner is showing no current codes and no pending codes. Could it be the distributor coil? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  10. I have a 1990 Dodge D350. I am trying to locate an engine oil cooler. I can't find one at any parts store and am having trouble finding one on the web. The problem I am having is I keep getting oil in the water. I thought it was the head gasket so I replaced it, but at an idle with 3 new gallons of delo added after replacing the gasket, within 5 minutes of adding the oil, the oil pressure dropped to nothing. I killed the truck and checked the oil level, it barey registered on the dipstick I added another gallon and started it, same story:banghead:. I was told that a hole in the oil cooler could cause this so I pulled it off and presure tested it. It does have a small hole, an I'm not sure it could cause that big a problem, but am going to try. The part new from the stealership is $750.00:spend:. I don't want to throw that much money on a maybe fix. Anyone know where I can get one a little cheaper?
