No more Royal purple in my NV5600
Purchased my truck with 104,000 mi. Did not appear that the trans or rear axle fluids had ever been changed. Decided to run Royal purple syncromax in the trans. When changing the fluid i noticed the magnet inside the pto cover had some metal flakes but not overwhelming. Long story short, i ran syncromax for 16000 (6qrts) the truck was always hard to shift, hard to down shift Could only catch a gear or two) and sometime nearly impossible to get in gear if it was at operating temp and I put it in neutral at a long stop light. Switched fluid out today and the magnet was buried in metal flakes/shavings. Replaced the RP syncromax with 6 qrts of pennzoil syncromesh. Truck is already upshifting way smoother and i'm able to down shift now. drove 15 miles city and stop and go and 18 miles hwy. This is just my experience fwiw.

So i know what injectors I wont be getting. - - - Updated - - - So AH64ID OR MOPARMAN. I noticed today that sometime my Edge cs comes on when I turn the key to on position and sometimes it don't. The times it does come on and I wait for the gauges to come up the engine seems to fire within 3 cranks. When the cs doesn't come on (the regular dash lights do) even if I wait it takes 6 to 8 cranks. WTH. I am going to try this some more and see if its really is a difference or coincidence over the next few days.

Was talking to another guy , told me to check my prv by pulling the the banjo bolt drying out the well and starting the truck . I did that and the well filled up and poured out right away. Does this sound like it could be the issue to you. Not saying you are wrong but hoping I luck out and its cheaper then injectors .lol

Lately it takes longer for truck to turn over. No smoke, idles fine runs great. I noticed today that if I hold the fuel pedal down 1/4 the way the truck fires right up. At Idle when cold fuel rail pressure is bouncing from around 5.6 kpsi up 6.4 and as low as 4.4. When warm starts the same but rail pressure sits around 5.3 up to 5.6 down to 4.8 kpsi. Any ideas on this. Thanks for the help.

Lift pump
its still 80 degrees here . It started running the 30 seconds every time when I loaded a smarty jr on it. I figured if I removed the smarty it would stop but still runs 30+ seconds every time.

@ jag1 It runs for 30 plus seconds without bumping the starter. @ Mopartech. can i get tool 9014 from a shop or do I have to order off line - - - Updated - - - Can I just do the flow test by pulling the filter and draining the housing then leave the drain valve open and messure that way?????

@ Jag1 .The other battery was just over a year old . The battery that was bad looked like it was original with the truck . The battery that i didnt replace tested and was testing like new. the lift pump never ran that long when turned to on until I put a smarty jr on it. I took the smarty off and it still runs for 30 + sec and my Edge cs still is reading the POD. (The smarty was updated and is showing unlocked) The lp just sounds like hell for the first 15 seconds then smooths out. I drained the filter canister and pulled the filter then hit the key. Te canister filled in about 3 to 4 seconds. - - - Updated - - - Is it possible that the lp runs longer cause its weak??

Lift pump
Stock lift pump runs for a minimum of 30 sec when key is turned to run without bumping starter. Noticed today after installing a new battery (passenger side was DEAD) that the lp runs faster but making noise like starting to cut out kinda like a ruff idling engine then after 15 20 seconds starts to smooth out. Is this a def sign lp is going out. Also taking a little longer to turn over then when I bought it. Thanks

I agree with AH64ID. For the price of the cfm unit you could save about $120 more and get a smarty jr. Then you will have a lot more torque and power and I am sure I would get better mpg but had to much fun making a few mustangs, bmw's and a camero look stupid today(I have only had my Smarty jr for about 3 weeks ) Today was my first semi long trip since installing and the power was there!!!

Havent tried it but hear alot of great things about it. I read an article in a diesel magazine said they replaced an afe blade runner with with the cfm and dynoed the truck before and after and gained something like 10 hp and 18 ftlbs of torque(dont quote me on those number's) I will see if I can find the article and post the info for you.

smarty jr question???
I dont know but it bugs the hell out of me. If I turn the key to on to change guages in the insight the lp will not stop running
