The logic in this...
Honestly I feel it is just as important to address the suction side as well as the discharge. Heck, that is one main reason to port the intake and exhaust valve passages in the head.

The logic in this...
Another thing to consider when discussing "fluid dynamics", for any gas or vapor, a larger exhaust pipe will create less back pressure on the engine. Think of trying to blow through a coffee stiring straw versus blowing trough a McDonald's straw...... After all, internal combustion engines are just reciprocating compressors and the less back pressure on a compressor the more efficient the compressor is. Or think of it as overall compression ratio, the larger the exhaust system, typically you will have lower drive pressures, thus a smaller compression ratio across the engine. You are correct that there are small choke points in the system but larger piping in the system allows for higher flows with lower pressure drop through the system.

2 Questions :)
I replaced both front hub assemblies on my 01 and ordered the complete kits straight from Mopar for around $300 a piece. The bearings that Mopar used in the kits that I recieved were Timken sets made in the USA. I have no idea on the tourque values, but I used the same theory we always use on heavy haul low-boy hubs after new bearings which is tighten up snug to ensure that the assembly is firmly set into the races then back off on the nut until you get a slight stop of the wheel from a good hand turn. This may be completely wrong but I have not had any issues with the new bearings yet and I have roughly 25,000 miles on them so far, nor do we have any issues on the trailer hubs we rebuild that carry heavy loads for a living. Just my two cents.

Best Power Options for stock turbo and stock vp
I run the 275's with the quad 120hp box and smarty programmer. Before I had the smarty, my EGT's were a concern pulling heavy loads so I had to drive by the pyrometers. After the smarty, I leave it on number 5 setting and my EGT's are very manageable now even with a stock HX-35. Don't get me wrong, this setup can really roll the smoke but I have learned to ease onto the throttle and bring the HX-35 on up then I can accelerate at will after that withoit excessive smoke. I am getting decent fuel millage (20-21) with this setup driving 65-70mph everyday for 160 miles. My truck is not quick by any means, it's a 3500 6spd dually with flatbed and loaded tool boxes but from 60mph on up, it pulls pretty dang hard. With all of that being said, I will be giving a lot of attention to the air side of the equation next which is long over due with my mods. Not sure what your goal is but the setup I am running gives me a reliable, efficient, and fun truck to drive. Remember, whatever mods you have, you ultimately control the longevity and dependability of your truck, i.e. throttle control.

About that high idle kit
Thanks, that was the explanation that I needed.

About that high idle kit
I would speculate that the egt's will be a problem under load with retarded timing.

About that high idle kit
My point is, would it be better to have the normal (advanced) timing while you are accelerating and running through gears, then once you are up to speed with your load you flip to MPG mode????
-
About that high idle kit
So, you flip it on after you have run trough the gears and let it cruise with it on and cut if off when you stop and go through the gears again?

About that high idle kit
Just exactly what is this mpg fooler doing to the engine management to get these impressive numbers? Sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere on the forums.

About that high idle kit
There is no more support for the 120hp zillaradier fuel box I am running. This box came out before the adrenaline hit the market. Good box but I have already had one board go out on me and I was lucky enough that we were dealers for them for awhile and I had a zillaraider for a 02 dodge sitting on the shelf. Same box but different connectors for the 01-02. So, after I had the problem with the original box, called them up and said they no longer support that box. Was wanting to get an Edge Comp to run with the Smarty but I may wait to see what may come of this "game over" setup that Ed is developing.

Is there atleast an idea of when a product may be ready for market (assuming all testing goes well and product performs as planned). I want to get an idea of when this superior product will be available because I am running an obsolete setup with Quad going out of business and I don't want to unload some money on another setup that is out there already if there is a better thing coming. I guess I just wanna know if y'all think it's gonna be by year end or a couple more years. Thanks for any information that you can give and I know this is a question that requires there to be plenty of assumptions in the answer. BTW, I apologize for high jacking this thread...
