  1. Update I got a nice 2001 engine harness and sent my ecm to auto computer specialist for a 01 flash. I’ll make another post about them and there awesome customer service when I get the ecm installed tomorrow. But I have another question. The engine harness I bought was supposed to be off an 01 truck but it has a one wire oil pressure switch plug. My truck has the oil pressure sensor (3 wire) I bought a oil pressure switch but the threads are to small. Did I get sold a 02 harness? What sensor/switch do I need to use? Any thoughts? I can probably find an adapter bushing to use the switch.
  2. Did you have a 01 engine in your 99? Think that will give me the flash I need to run the 99 ecm on the 01?
  3. Last question so your saying if my 01 engine has a 99 ecm I can have it flashed to a 01? I really appreciate your help!
  4. Do y’all recommend anyone for the reflash?
  5. Hey thanks for the reply! Yes I installed the fass with the beans sump in bottom of tank. I’m almost convinced now the motor was built for a 01 truck. I just can’t get my head around why it won’t start if I unplug the crank sensor when there’s no tone ring on the crank and that it runs and idles so well minus the extended crank. I’m gonna plug the crank sensor plug into the cam sensor and hope it’s a complete 01 motor and 01 ecm.
  6. Hey guys new member here! Buckle up this is gonna be a long one. Lol I have a 99 3500 with a 6speed swap. Bought the truck not running from an auction. First thing I noticed when trying to get running was it had a lift pump in the tank that looked factory ran never seen that before. Got truck running by just replacing batteries. Install a fass 100. My issue is now truck runs and idles good but I have no tach , power loss , and extended crank sometimes and a crank sensor fault. Replace crank sensor 3 times no change. So my thought was tone ring so I pulled starter and sensor to try and inspect tone ring. Here’s where it gets weird. I don’t see a tone ring? All I see through the hole is the crank when it comes around and it take up almost the entire hole. It also is slightly rubbing the crank sensor. My thought is maybe an 01 block? My buddy has Cummins insight and the engine number on the front cover has a build date of 7-2000. Im at a loss of what to do next cause I know motor isn’t original and idk if it has the right ecm on it. And to top it all off is when I unplug the crank sensor truck will not start. What is it reading the crank counter weight lol I’m at a loss. What should I do next? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated
