  2. If you're adding significant horsepower / torque numbers to your gen 3 hemi you're likely no stranger to supporting mods. That Power is tons of fun until it breaks something. Ive been pushing the limits of my stock transmission until recently when I installed a modified valve body from paramount performance. Granted if money isnt an issue and you're frequenting the race track with high horsepower a fully built trans is always the better bet, but like many others im on a budget for the time being. I did the install myself, being careful and having the needed torque specs for everything it took about four and a half hours to get done. granted working on a 4 post lift was a very huge help. the valve body works as advertised, bolstering fluid pressure to key points in my NAG1 transmission. My shifts when I stomp the throttle are significantly more firm / precise and it seems to accept the power much better. In addition to better shifting I didnt sacrifice any around town driveability. It feels like factory when you're not mashing the throttle pedal. If you're on a tighter budget another option would be the mercedes blue top solenoids (you can also run these solenoids in tandem with the valve body or use you're factory solenoids). they give a similar reaction as far as shifting but its more of an all time reaction, you'll see more aggressive up and downshifts even in low rpm cruising. If thats not a concern for you then its more budget friendly but will require the same amount of work as the valve body if your doing the install yourself. Overall between the ease of install and the difference the valve body made in my opinion, was definitely worth the money and effort, having the peace of mind in regaurds to keeping my transmission in better standing and with any luck a slightly improved / consistent 60 ft time at the track.

Glad to hear everyone made it back safe! Beast defiantly lives up to the name mobbing through snow like that. Id be willing to bet those tuning adjustments to beast we spoke about served the truck well all the way back up there!
  4. Those are definitely a solid option especially with the cost difference. Ive heard mixed reviews on the non foulers specifically on the hemi platform which is why I opted for the cat simulator but it definitely could be chalked up to user error on their part for any number of reasons. Personally I had the extra 100 bucks in the budget to avoid that but if it works then that's definitely important dollars saved.
  5. Installing aftermarket catalytic converters may trip a check catalyst below threshold code or a rich to lean code in these cars depending on the brand you bought. These motors are very sensitive. I bought a set of BBK high flows and had this issue and it took me forever to track down a simple enough remedy so I thought I might share my findings here. With the purchase of these cats I later found big daddy's garage has an o2 CEL fix. It's a cat simulator that threads between the downstream o2 sensors and your exhaust. Bought 2 at 50 bucks a pop and cleared the code without issue. Still saved me money as opposed to purchasing the higher end high flow cats as it was out of my budget at the time. These are for a racing application and not street legal in most states from what I've researched but they are great for track days getting rid of that pesky check engine light if it's a bother to you. I paired this with my borla atak cat back exhaust and a set of long tube headers and definitely make great sound and mean tone with the set up. Let me know if you have questions pertaining to hemi exhaust system set ups.
  6. Those 5.7s are no slouch, plenty of fun to drive and plenty of aftermarket capability. I hit a car show this last summer and saw a 300c stroked out I wish I had more details on the guys build it sounded like a monster.
