  1. Thanks guys... The belt looks good but is old. I think I will put a new one on it before I hit the road on a long trip. Its good to know that is only a "Cummins" thing.
  2. I have only had my Dodge/Cummins for a few months. When I turn off the ignition switch and the engine comes to a halt ---- it has a sneezing sound. What on earth is that? Its sorta like a suppressed little sneeze sounding a lot like "chit"???? It seems to be more pronounced now that the weather has warmed up. Thanks in advance. mal
  3. What do you guys think of mixing in a gallon of Rotella T "Synthetic" to regular Rotella T at oil change time?
  4. I have just put a half a cup of fluid in it to top it off and plan to flush it and refill with Valvolene when it warms up a bit. Yep, that is a Chinook. I thoroughly enjoyed flying those big windmakers.
  5. Thanks for the quick advice. I will change out the fluid today ---- even though its 14 degrees outside...... That is cold for us Arkies. Coldest winter down here for a very long time. Thanks again, Mal
  6. I am new to Dodge diesels. I have a 2000 model and when you start up at below freezing, there is a howl like a banshee coming from under the hood. It changes sound when you either turn the steering wheel or step on the brakes????? Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on??? After 15 minutes driving, it gets to be less of a racket but as long as its below freezing, it continues. Oh, and the temperature guage never shows over about 130 degrees. I have a new 190 degree thermostat to install when it warms up outside.
