Track bar and front end upgrades
I installed the DS1413 MOOG track bar . I did the ball stud end first . Then I had help from my 6 year old who turned the steering wheel for me while I lined up the bolt hole on the axle bracket. The MOOG packaging said a higher torque ball stud but listed no torque.. I called MOOG and the guy there said it meant more durable not a higher torque on the nut . So 70 ft/lbs on ball stud and 130 ft/lbs on axle bracket bolt. Now to track down where the rest of the play is at....

Track bar and front end upgrades
I think I will just use the Moog problem solver trackbar - DS1413. It cheap and has the lifetime warranty. I’m going to go through the front end afterwards to. I’m getting sick of the wondering . Thanks for all the help and replies. Is an alignment required after replacing the track bar?

Track bar and front end upgrades
The OEM one did last 308000 kms and 16 years... well steering did get sloppy a few years back but that’s not bad on OEM design I guess.

Track bar and front end upgrades
I like to do my own work to to save money and learn more and to know it’s done right. Have you heard of Spohn track bars? SKU # D94-02-TB-DS. . They have one for the truck but I haven’t heard of it before.

Track bar and front end upgrades
My track bar just separated at the balljoint near the differential. Which is the best upgrade and why? I read on a few sites that the newer dodge pickups will match up front end components.? I also can turn the steering wheel about 3” to 4” before I get response for steering. What should I do to correct this steering and get it back to new steering. I have 285/75R 16 tires and stock 16” wheels. No other mods accept for a Darin’s steering stabilizer. The truck is a 2002 HO Cummins 2500 Sport

Grid heaters not working since high idle cold start enabled at dealer
So I took it to the dealer this morning because I wanted them to check and make sure they never set something off. They told me it was my relays and it happens a lot ... I checked for codes as soon as I got back in the truck. Now it says PCU 0500,1694, 1693 and ECU 0382, 1693. Why wouldn't that show up before I gave it to them?

Grid heaters not working since high idle cold start enabled at dealer
It seems since I brought my truck into the dealer for the 3 cylinder high idle cold start enabling my grid heaters haven't worked. I see the wait to start light come on but the voltage doesn't change. I have to plug it in even at 0'C now or it won't start. Lots of white smoke for the first few minutes when I do get it running . Could there be another problem I'm missing maybe? Can a dealer possible program stuff to mess up or maybe accidentally delete my grid heaters somehow?

Dealer says high idle won't work because of remote starter/alarm
So I finally had a chance to bring the truck back to the dealer. I told them that it wasn't working and that this time I wanted to watch the technition check that it was enabled. Turns out it was not enabled. It was called 3 cylinder high idle . It made sure it was enabledthis time. I tried it out this evening and it works!! In the 6 cylinder mode anyway. It was in the garage so maybe that's why the 3 cylinder high idle never kicked in.

Dealer says high idle won't work because of remote starter/alarm
I took my 2002 HO cummins with the 6 speed manual transmission to the dealer the to have the 3 and 6 cylinder high idle enabled . They said it was to warm to try it but said it was enabled . I've had a chance to test it in -18C, or 0F. Nothing happened after 10 minutes. I called them and they said my remote starter and alarm probably isn't letting it work. Has anyone else ran into this or heard this?
