  1. Back in December my p/s fluid would foam over and while on the brakes the truck made a whining noise. I drained and refilled the fluid until it was much clearer and I haven’t had that problem since. My hope was it either was contaminated and or burnt out. Now I’m noticing a sort of soft brake pedal, if I push long and hard enough the pedal will just about hit the floor and when released it will return to normal position. I’m wondering if my hydroboost is bad or possible vac pump issue. Any help/suggestions is much appreciated. Looks like I’ll have a couple weeks of distancing from society and hopefully get this truck resolved. Thanks again.
  2. I contacted the seller and in fact he had the grid heater turned off through efi live. Sending auto cal back for repair I will update when finished. Thanks for the help.
  3. Does anybody know what triggers the grid heater relay? The ecm, or a sensor? I’ve replaced the grid heater and relay and tested all power, once I trigger the relay the heater turns on but still no wts on dash. I also put the iat sensor in a cup of ice water for quite a while to see if that may trigger it, no luck. The only thing new to the truck is efi live.
  4. I am reaching the point where I need to have my 47re rebuilt. Im leaning towards a suncoast triple disc converter, shift solenoids and a built valve body. I am also going to use the most reputable diesel performance shop around do the work. Does anybody have a ballpark what it costs for labor on a job like that? Thanks
  5. Napa wants 50% over dealer price for part #26229.
  6. I'm in massachusetts I appologize for not setting up my profile yet. The Napa around here tells me they don't list it " dealer only ".
  7. Does anybody have a stock lower intercooler boot they could possibly sell as the dealer wants $80+ and I'm on a tight budget. 2001 dodge cummins.
  8. Yeah i'll be removing my radiator and giving it a better cleaning. Any suggestions on cleaners?
  9. Instead of starting a new thread I figured I would try here...... I picked up a snow plow for a friend the other night. It was about a 20 minute ride and the temp got a little over 190* possibly right around 210*-220* , and the outside temp around 45-55*. I've already relocated the puke bottle and cleaned the radiator. Just wondering if anybody has run into this ,although when it is cold enough to snow I have a feeling this may not happen.
  10. MoparMan where are your test leads? on the battery? And unfortunately I don't have access to a scanner like the one in the second video.
  11. A bad ground will cause the ac noise or just screw with the lockup? Also after I check all grounds body and battery is it necessary to always reset the apps sensor? Lastly if all the connections are good and the alternator runs above 10VAC am I looking at replacing the alternator? Thanks for all the information, Greg.
  12. The charging system seems to be functioning normally. Is it just a bad diode? Is the alternator now unreliable? Like I said I just bought the truck the alternator looks almost brand new, not that it means it's good.
  13. Just bought a 2001 2500 24v auto with 103,000. Everything was fine until one day my lock up was going in and out rapidly in drive and overdrive. Looked up a similar symptoms on the internet and a lot of people suggest moving a passenger side ground wire out from the wire loom that runs above the alternator and under the bracket. I moved the wire and reset my apps with the pedal procedure. I've only put 200 miles on so far but everything is back to BETTER than normal. Just curious if there's any other common problems associated with the haywire of the locking and unlocking of the torque convertor.
