  1. I tested the positive wire while the truck was running at the back of the alternator with the neg- on the battery. Should I test it different? The tranny is still ating up in/out of 3rd 4th lock up and unlock even with the overdrive switch off it will sometimes kick in/out of 3rd lockup
  2. I did have them test it. It was reman. It showed , -.11 on my bench. Led on post and other at base ground.
  3. I just put a Brand New Alternator on the truck and tested the New Alt. VAC. With the truck Running it shows .05 vac with all accessories turned off or unhooked. According to the video and your numbers the New Alt. is BAD?
  4. I took Alternator in to have it bench tested, Diodes Passed,Both Batteries Passes. I was really hoping it would have bad alternator due to the crazy whinning noise coming under the dash when over 1500 rpms. Check Grounds Cleaned Batter Cables again.
  5. Should I test VAC while revving the engine upto 1600rpm's or so. This whinning noise is not there until 1300rpm when on the gas driving. It does not make noise in the driveway. Any help would be great.
  6. I just checked the Alternator with the truck running. It has 13.78 volts and it starts out at .3 vac and slowly drops to .15 vac. Does that sound Good to you Mike? All of a sudden I'm getting a bad whinning noise under the dash by the steering column, what is the module do?
  7. I drove the truck for 2 hours on Interstate over weekend after I set the Edge Juice w/att. for the correct tire size. Truck still isn't shifting correctly and code po501 is still there. If the dealership set my tires at 800 revolution per mile instead of 602 rpm could that set off the po501 code? MPH on Gps,dashboard and Edge are with in 1 mph of each other. Truck still is cutting out when i'm hard on it wanting to pass anything. Also yesterday the ABS computer under the dashboard is squelling when i'm hard on the pedal. Pulled Alternator fuse out and it did not change anything. but it did set code 1682 which i cleared.
  8. 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 cummins diesel. I have code po501 and after thinking back this Code started right after I changed my tires from 31inches tall to 35inches tall. I did any way check ABS Sensor/Replaced anyway. VSS/Replaced it anyway. Apps sweep test, test perfectly Replaed it anyway. So I am back to It has to be a programming issue with the ecm/pcm. I had dealership inter in the correct tire size and set the RPM's @800. Gps we will say shows 71mph when the dash speedometer reads almost 69-70mph. Is there a different setting the dealership should be doing also?
  9. The truck didn't have issues with TQ Management by reducing power. Po501 code is making the transmission kick into 4th gear to soon, now today it bouncing in and out of 3rd and 4th gear when going 39mph. The other issue is truck just shuts off "acts like"at over half throttle so you have to feather it up to speed instead of just nailing the throttle.If you don't nail the throttle is will not act up. I believe its the vp-44 but no codes? I need a donor injection pump to test it out.

  11. I really think it is also, I'm going to sweep test the APPS tomorrow but according to my edge its working. I did have a FASS DRP Fuel pump on it for last 6 months when i put the New VP44 Fuel Pressure was 19-15psi than i noticed it slowly going down as far as 7-8 psi as I was adding some power to the truck. I now have a the Original Air Dog on it which I noticed little bit more power was back but Not like it was. I'm at the Vp 44 but warranties are a real pain to deal with not having the truck running while they are repairing it.
  12. I did not have these issues i'm having 6 weeks ago, tires would spin mid throttle sometimes i'd get tire/frame shake. The truck had gobs of power overtaking 5-6 cars at a time on interstate with half throttle at most. Truck would spool up almost immediately and any speed. Now the truck does have power with turners on it, but it does cut out when the truck really wants to get going and pull hard. If I take the tuners off completely the truck acts like its a gas v6 motor at best. I've spun the tires through 2nd gear no problem before this issue happened
  13. My point was with Doing a Burn Out in the Driveway is that it shows I don't have to drive it hard and fast to get it to act up. It will cut in and out just under load in the driveway. If I'm on it hard on interstate passing 2-3 cars at once it will cut out and I can not use most of the pedal
  14. last 20% of tps isn't going up to 100% I will go drive it again and see if the tps readying drops when the truck has the glitch/loss of power. It will cut of of its power everytime Im hard on the pedal. And even if i power brake it in the driveway it will roast the tires immediatly than over 2000 rpms it cuts out, so i back off the pedal and it comes back to life again
  15. yes, pedal starts at 0% and goes upto 100% while sitting KOEO When I take the truck for a good beating tps readings gradually goes up to 80% tops than will go back to 0% at Idle.
  16. BWD Tps Sensor. I believe so, I unhooked batteries and reconnected them. Turned Key ON and slowly pushed pedal all the way down and than slowly let back up.
  17. I just put a new throttle position sensor on 2 weeks ago cost $220 I did reset pedal after disconnecting batteries. Code 501 still comes up, and tranny doesn't shift when it really should. Tranny was $10,000 10 days OLD.
  18. I purchases vp44 from Thoroughbred Diesel. My Edge does have TPS readings. TPS shows gradual increases all the way up too 80% while under hard load, but 100% when just sitting at stand still with engine off Key ON. Fuel Pressure reads 19 psi and 14 psi under hard load wot
  19. I had pretty much the same similiar issues when my vp44 went out but it threw code po1688.
  20. I just put the Fuel Gage sending unit on 5 minutes ago, I'm going to drive it now. It sits at 19 idle
  21. My Edge does show Boost psi and it seems to be normal 0-30 it will make. Edge does not show TPS %, I did just replace TPS and it did help transmission shift into 4th gear little later. Should I get a Shop to look at the tps reading while driving it?
  22. Need some help here! 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 cummins diesel. Air Dog Original,fuel sump kit, New VP44, A&E Air Box Kit. Smarty S03 stacked with Edge Juice W/Att. All of a sudden the truck start to like basically cut off all horsepower if i stand on it, so i have to back out of it and it takes off again. I took smarty off and edge juice to see what the truck does. With all programmers off the truck it has basically NO Power ever, feelings like im pulling a train! I took truck to dealership they flashed both ecm,pcm back to stock and uploaded all updates including set my 35 in tire size. Truck Did have a little bit of power but not really driveable. Have code po501 and thats it besides po1693. Please help send me in a direction that will solve this issue.
