  1. OK so about a year ago I experienced a vibration from the blower motor. Dropped the motor and inside the fan basket there was a bunch of insulation. This sort of concerned me since I couldn't figure out where it came from but problem solved. So last Saturday I took the truck out, turned the AC on and darn if that vibration wasn't back again. Didn't think much into it, figured something fell down in there, easy fix. Now mind you my truck is babied beyond belief and only gets driven on the weekends. So I had to tow a trailer yesterday for a friend and when I opened my door I about died, and judging by the odor something had died. Did take me long to zero in on the location which was the passenger floor area. I dropped the blower motor again to find a family of mutilated mice among a bunch more insulation. So I've spend the past two days trying to rid this odor, I've completely disassembled the blower assembly and as much of the vent area as I could to sanitize everything I could. Right now I've got a de-ionizing machine running in my truck to help. And not only that but I've now removed two fan basket loads of insulation which I have to assume is from elsewhere in my truck. Anybody else experience anything like this before. I'm really pissed at myself for not looking into this Saturday and I feel like my truck is destroyed now by this stench. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Sorry for the long post
  2. Wow, thanks. I didn't expect an exact number like that. So what will that do for towing. My wife and I are looking to purchase a travel trailer this September. Its roughly 11k. Is it going to help the truck noticeably or is it not worth the upgrade. I guess what I'm looking to do is add a little peace of mind knowing that I'm not killing my truck to bad when I hit the mountains. I came across the link below that shows a 2k# towing increase between the two gears. Does that sound right? http://dodgeram.info/2003/load-tow/2500.html
  3. Can anyone shed some light on what you would expect the rpm increase would be at 65mph when swapping out 3.73's for some 4.10's. I've towed trailers over 10k on some decent hills with the 3.73's and it did well but I'm curious how much better 4.10's would do. Obviously there is some mechanical advantage in play but how much of a difference would I see. Thanks guys. Love this Forum
  4. I know this is an older thread but I too had this problem about a year ago. Drove me nuts and final I dropped the blower motor. I'll admit that I almost threw the motor assembly because it looked like a dead creature had died inside the basket. Turns out it was insulation from somewhere which concerned me because it was quite a bit and had no idea where it came from. Anyway, I cleaned it out and put the motor/fan assembly back and all was good until this past Saturday when I turn the air on. Same clicking/vibration! Haven't looked yet but I assume the same issue. Any ideas of where this material is coming from and should I be concerned about the fact that somewhere in my truck its missing this material.
  5. I did it to my 03 for the sound. I wasn't expecting anything other then an increase of the turbo whistle which I enjoy. Usually prefer that over the radio lol. Guess its a personal preference.Have fun
