Yes, I went to a FASS Titanium 95 system.

More progress. Yesterday we installed the relocation kit from Vulcan. Included t-fitting, needle valve, snubber, then rubber(?) line to the sensor. I opened the needle valve about a half a turn. Gauge is showing 15 psi and is steady idle to full boost. Still have to build a bracket to hold the sensor to the inner fender. Another question: I have bypassed the factory filter and lift pump. I assume I can remove them from the truck?

Yes, Vulcan has them. Thanks.

I'm dense some times but I believe I understand how this plumbed now. Looks like I can get the fittings from Vulcan if I can't find them locally. What is a source for the needle valve?

So, should the sensor be plumbed into the main fuel line upstream of the pump, or plumbed off the pressure port and at the end of the 5 feet of air brake tubing?

The kit came with all 1/2" line. I plumbed the sensor into the 'Pressure' port on the pump. Don't know if that is upstream or downstream of the filter.

It's back together now with only one SNAFU. I installed the pressure gauge before we installed the FASS. I plumbed the gauge to the factory fuel filter because that's where the old one was installed. Then when we installed the FASS we realized it bypassed the factory filter, so I had to re-plumb the wires and sending unit to the FASS pump. Duh. The truck now has 18 psi of fuel pressure at 16 lbs of boost and runs much better. Previously it nosed over at 2800 rpm and now it pulls hard to the redline/governor. I'm happy it's back on the road and running better. I'll pick up some 2-cycle oil for it soon. Thanks for everybody's help.

New ISSPRO gauge going in now. It has a sending unit on the top of the fuel filter and wires that go to the gauge. Please explain the highlighted above.

If this VP44 and FASS lasts 11 years I'll be very happy. It will stop being a daily driver in a couple of months so the mileage will go way down. I'll probably not put another 100K on it before I expire!

If anybody cares, the new VP44 is in the truck and it runs. FASS going in tomorrow.

OK, I just ordered parts from DAP. VP44, FASS95 system, and ISSO fuel pressure gauge kit.

Those little bales of hay don't weigh that much. I did haul a '79 Ford F-150 on the trailer from Boise to Trinidad, Colorado over Wolf Creek Pass. That worked the truck pretty good.

So far the 5-speed has held up, too. I was told not long after I bought the truck that the 5-speed would fail. I'm easy on it. I always downshift into 4th when I'm pulling a hill. And, the heaviest load I've towed with it was when I moved out of AK. Had 1500 lbs of car parts in the back and a car trailer with my race car on it behind.

A new gauge is on the list. The gauge that failed was a Glowshift. I'll buy something different this time. I'm not upset about the VP44. It made it 285K miles.
