I’m not sure where or what to look for or at I’ve made sure the injection does not have air in it, I tried to make a little jumper to bypass the fuel system relay and it popped a fuse and when I did make the right connection the truck still died but when I jump two particular ports on that relay I can hear the injection pump make clicking type sounds idk if that means the pump is bad or the brain on the pump is bad any of y’all have any more input

I just put that relay in there too but hey it’s a lead on the right direction but still not 100% where to start looking

So I just replaced the fuel system relay the truck did fall on its face BUT the relay is warm to the touch is supposed to be warm? How much colts should it read when pulling it testing it the ignition run, and both engine control fuses get power as well as the fuel system relay but it’s warm

That’s a good question I haven’t tried to fully trace it but I know it isn’t the ECM put a good one in it and does the same thing it’s definitely electrical just gotta keep tracking it down

I did check this grounds under the drivers battery the terminals themselves are tight but where it mounts to the wheel well was a little loose I also plan on getting a new fuel system relay fuse and I reckon I could get that bigger 50 amp one as well and cross my fingers I also read I could crack injectors lines 1&3 while cranking the truck if it spirt fuel out the VP44 is good if not than the VP44 could be the culprit but I always vp either or good are dead I didn’t know there’s an in between with em just doing the process of elimination but I strongly believe it’s something electrical

I just tried swapping it with the big black A/C fuse and it still fell on its face I’m not sure where to start looking any more?

Well small update it is not the ecm so got that ruled out I’m really racking brain now fellas I’m gonna get a new fuel really fuse tmrw so what it does hopefully it’s something that simple or at least I hope so

So what fuse should I buy to replace than? The big black one for the fuel pump relay maybe? Or what one

Yes it has good solid battery connections all the grounds have been checked new air dog and newer injection pump everything points to the ecm in my opinion I’ve checked all the fuses made sure the box is grounded good

No sir I check all the fuses and it doesn’t have any blown fuses, let me back track the CEL popped up after I pulled the ECM ground off the block to check for corrosion.

It has codes but the scan tool wasn’t able to pull them and yes it was doing it before the AD, also some times it will make the radio shut off/reset

Hey there guys new to the site seeking some help. So truck runs and drives but will randomly die or stumble and pick back up it has a brand new air dog lift pump in it and the VP44 is a year old when it does sometimes shuts off or resets the radio, bad ECM? This is on a 98.5
