1. well, I got through to Banks ( after 30 min on hold ) Everyone is beside themselves why the gauges work in there test truck... They told me in the Ottomind set up there is only 1 ground wire with is now going to the neg side of my bat. They said try an meter and check for millamps ...I did and nothing on wires to gauges and the pins from the Ottomind... I tried my transmission gauge wiring and got power... I guess my truck was not met to have boost and EGT gauges... Anyone have luck with Edge ?
 2. I checked mine and yes there is a ground coming from brake controller to steering column . As far as the Ottomind there is only one ground wire witch I have run to the battery... I called Banks 4 times yesterday to tell them my gauges still don't work and was put on hold with no less then 4 caller ahead of me... I'm so frustrated with all the time ( sense 8-24-11 ) and waiting on hold with Banks I'm ready to pull everything out of my truck and go with Juice w/attitude CS...I have called them 4 time ( to test ) and have gotten right thru....

3. I will ask Banks tomorrow if the is another ground wire. I just went into garage and looked at the original wire harness, there was only 1 blank wire with a crimp for a bolt to go thru. 1 blue wire with a female crimp, 1 yellow with a round male crimp, 1 map sensor plug and 1 TPS plug...
 4. i have manual 01/03/03 pn 96397 v.3.0 but it reads the same ...the ground wire in fig 15 is for the gauge lights...what looks like a 2nd ground wire in fig 5 ( loom number 12 ) is the blue wire that goes across the fire wall to PCM on auto transmission ( passenger side )
 5. I have the Banks Power Pack TLC system including Stinger Plus, Stinger TLC, Git Kit TLC , the Ottomind wire loom on mine only has one ground wire that is supposed to go to the intake bolt. Once the loom is in the cab there is only a plug and twist connection. Gauge lights work great. At this point I will take any advice:) Thanks... I'm thinking that I will send my gauges down to Banks to see if they can test them...should of done that in the first place:( but they said if a ohm meter will make the needles move then they work...
 6. i will find out today , just got back ottomind back from Banks today...will advise --- Update to the previous post... well the saga goes on!!! Got it back today, the invoice shows it tested good on test truck gauges worked in truck good to go:hyper: ... so, I plugged it in knowing that now that the ground is going right to the -- side of the battery and all connections are soldered and has that nice shrink tubing on all I prayed to the "BANKS GODS" stuck the key in and turned it and that awesome Cummins growl came to life but to my surprise my little red needles on the gauges just laid dead:mad: no movement at all:banghead: I just don't get it! It is real simple stuff here. Everything is new and I put an ohm meter on the gauges and they work....so I will call and wait on hold for 30min tomorrow:yme:
 7. they charge 45.00 to re-flash. As of now I have not paid a dime due to all the BS i have gone thru! I have to say for a 9 year old unit and I'm not the original buyer they have really done a good job on trying to get me going!!! the new wiring harness was 145.00 thermo couple was 100.00 gauge harness was 45.00...
 8. Well heres an update, Banks had me put a ohm meter on leads to the gauges and bingo they pegged out witch means they are not bad!! So off to Bank my ottomind went....After 3 days they call yesterday and said they re-flashed again and installed in there own 98 Ram and everything work great including the gauges...So, since I changed all the wiring harness and thermo couple they can only come up with the ground wire?!??! They said to undo from intake bolt and go direct to the neg side of battery...so we will see:banghead:
 9. well some good news , I did get a red LED, and I noticed a difference when disconnecting the yellow wire going the the pump...just no boost and egt gauge! Wonder if I put an ohm meter on the + and - going the gauge if i would get any voltage? Maybe the two gauges are bad? humm:2cents:
 10. no trouble codes at all. I got with James at banks he said to have someone watch from behind to see if i have smoke coming out as I take off up a hill from a dead stop then cut yellow wire going to the pump to see if I get no smoke doing same test...if i get no smoke on either test then the ottomind is not working...if i get smoke then all is good..He thinks that will be the case...and he also thinks the gauge plug that is soldered to the board my be broken and it is not fixable ... I will see this weekend...:banghead:
 11. today I took the black plastic connector form the fuel pump lead and soldered it .Took the blue wire to the T-tap connector (orange wire with the black tracer on the pcm) and soldered it as well...So I have eliminated all plastic crimps...I didn't have a deep socket the clean map sensor... as of now I still have no EGT or Boost gauge and no red led that progressively's glows brighter as fuel delivery is increased... what a real pain in my :banghead::banghead::banghead:
 12. well here we go... 1. new gauge harness2. new pyrometer ( thermocouple )3. Re flash4. new complete ( main ) wiring harness from ottomindstill no red LED or EGT and Boost gauges:mad::banghead:
 13. I bought the truck about 3 months ago and it was not working then... Banks is sending me a complete new wiring harness...So we will see...
 14. I was told if the MAP sensor is bad the truck would run like crap and smoke. Truck runs great.
 15. I will check the wire coming from fuse tap...according to banks the ottomind should show a red LED with key on and then green when i start up witch I get. As you drive and create boost the red LED should start to get brighter and brighter as the turbo winds up...I get no red LED at all. I checked pin 7 and 4 for 5 volts witch I have so I have good connection to MAP sensor...:banghead:
 16. The below letter was sent to BANKS... anyone have this problem? I bought my 98.5 Cummins and the gauges were not working, I call Larry he said ,we need to re-flash the Ottomind so i sent it next day air to you. Got a call from Joe saying they wanted to test it in your steak bed. It all check out Great and sent back to me...I installed it to find out that I still have no working gauges...I have a red LED then key on green, when I start and I never get the red LED...I called and talked to James and Jim and Joe many times Jim was going the get with James and I never heard back so I called and talked to Joe, We tried changing the gauge wiring harness...That didn't work... So Joe sent me a new thermocouple pyrometer and that didn't work...still no red LED and gauges...I called Joe back he got together with someone else and came to the conclusion that is a hardware problem? How can that be if it worked in you steak truck? Someone PLEASE help!!!! Thanks, Jack:banghead:I checked and re checked all connections grounds, T connectors, MAP sensor :banghead:inspected the wire loom were it goes through the firewall for chafing
 17. !. I have to hit the little button under dash every time i start truck2. At 3 am I feel like someone is going to shoot me when I unlock my door and the damn horn goes off.3. Would just not rather have it...thanks for any input...
 18. How do I remove the EVS 2 alarm? I have it in my 98 and it drives me crazy!!! Has anyone uninstalled theres? :banghead: I can't find any info online...Thanks
 19. well ,I got the new clock spring today and traced the horn wire to the correct pin were it plugs into wire harness then checked the CS in the truck and it makes contact so the original CS is still good. Then I very carefully took airbag assembly off the outer shell to get to the bergquist switch ( thin copper thingy with heavy mylar glued to it ) no continuity at all!!! I called the stealer and they said you must buy a clock spring and airbag!!! WTF . I hope someone out in Mopar1973man.com land can HELP:banghead:
 20. well, I got it all apart to find out that the airbag plug was not the same! Went back to O'rileys they claim that they are all the same part number from 97-99 so they ordered a 2000 for me. If all else fails I guess I could cut the solder the old plug? The stealer wants 230.00 for new, O'rileys 40.00? Will advise soon:duh: --- Update to the previous post... While I'm waiting for my new clock spring to show, I put an ohm meter on the red wire coming from where the contact pad would be and grounded to airbag metal frame and got no resistance when pressing the horn? Anyone have that issue ? or em I doing something wrong?
 21. Thanks for your input guys!!! I will give it a try and check back in tomorrow
 22. Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have bought a 98.5 4x4 Cummins and the horn does not work when i press from the steering wheel but works with the EVS 2 factory alarm. Do you think its the clock spring? if so how big is the job to replace? Thanks...:banghead:
