had to go out of town for a couple weeks. took truck to dealer and had the ctm flashed to the trucks computer. It cranked right over afterwards but immediatly threw the p0216 and i have no idea why. Could have the numerous attempts to start the truck have damaged the new vp44 or is it possible it was thrown by the dealers scan tool?

i personalyhave not tried hot wiring the vp but my "ex" mechanic stated he had tried with no sucess. I had none of the issues until i hired someone that didnt know what they were doing apparently to replace my lift pump and injection pump, ive trying to fix someone elses work since.

i agree JLandry, it can pass through without it working. but my vp has been recently replaced and is powering up and shooting alot of fuel at the high pressure side which is whats not adding up

yes vp has power, ive double checked just about everything. Im still leaning to the anti theft somehow disrupting things.

all but the number 2 hard line had alot of fuel present, it just had a tiny amount if any while cranking.

I reprimed the injection pump and bleed the injection hard lines this morning. I got good flow and no air in all the lines but the number2. I repeated the 30 sec cycle on the number 2 line a few more times with no sucess. I stopped when my batteries got weak. I put then on charge and will go from here when they are fully charged. Could this be a vp problem or is it simply air locked somewhere in the number 2 hard line?

i was called in to work bf i could reprime system, could anything else be causing this prob or am i overthinking things?

The new ctm was needed but i believed it cured half the problem. I am now getting grey smoke from the tail pipe while cranking when none was present bf. My pressure at the injector lines is good, just think im overlooking something simple.

your answer is appreciated. I have around 500-600 left after new ctm. Is that sufficent for a proper upgrade or should i save a little bit more for a proven set up? thanks again

I appreciate this guys, i asked the same question elsewhere and the answers i received were more off topic or 'let me guess' then a straight answer. Thanks again. btw since i did unfortuantly have an intank pump installed should i replace it immediatly change it or just add an auxiliary pump?

Thanks alot i appreciate your time. You are the only one that has heard of this it seems, i was beginning to second guess common sense which is never good. Thank you again sir!

i appreciate your time. Would the ctm locking up cause the open circuit or do i need to dig deeper in the problem. Thank you again

Thank you for your time. Im a new member with which may be a stupid question. I own a 2001 2500 auto. A few months ago i shut my truck off and it never restarted. I had no fuel to the fuel filter housing. I had my lift pump replace with an intank unit, first mistake, second i had someone that in my opinion now wasnt able to do the the job. After that didnt work a new injection pump installed, no luck. A computer diagnostic ran, no luck. I have no codes but truck will turn over but still wont run. After towing the truck home, i discovered a short in the power door locks fuse which controls the ctm. My truck has the anti theft feature but didnt have any symptoms before the pump swaps. Would the ctm lock up be the problem or am i over thinking this? Thanks for any thoughts on this i appreciate it!
