  1. That is what the machine shop told me when i took the head in. He said that most heads that come in off of cummins motors are warped the same way. Truck is back on the road again and running great. Just have one small diesel leak that i need to find.
  2. Labor is cheap when you do it yourself.
  3. Got the head back from the machine shop today. Head had a slight warp in it so they ground it flat again. Ordered a upper gasket set and head bolt set from Cummins and a set of RV275 injectors from Diesel Auto Power. Hope to have it back on the road this weekend. Gaskets- $207.34 Bolts- $109.98 Injectors- $389.00 Mach Shop-$220.00 Total $926.32 Inj. Core -100.00 Grand Tot. $826.32
  4. That would be correct. Pulled the head off today and sending it to the machine shop to get it checked out.
  5. Looks like im going to be replacing the head gasket this next week. Any suggestions on where to get the gaskets from would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I checked all the valves about 20,000 miles ago and adjusted accordingly. I rotate between 2 stroke and the Amsoil Diesel concentrate fuel treatment. I purchase fuel from the same place about 90% of the time. Now as far as quality of the fuel not real sure on that. As of the last break job there was not any breaks dragging. There are no codes on the truck. The last codes that were set was for the TPS. Since replaced that with the Timbo TPS. And as far as what gears on the truck I cant remember if they are 3:55 or 3:73 but at 70 mph the truck is turning 2000 rpms. Im leaning towards injectors but not real sure. Truck has a tendancy to smoke a little when under a load even prior to the power puck.
  7. I have gotten as good as 17 out of the truck before. The truck currently carries a welding skid. When the skid is off the MPGs do not increase but maybe by one MPG. All the fluids have been changed over to Amsoil. After I installed the power puck the truck increased by one to two MPG but has since come down to the current 12-13. All millage is hand calculated at every fill up. As far as the skinny pedal I have been accused of driving like a grandpa.
  8. With everything on the truck that is in my signature my MPG is anywhere from 12.5-13. I feel like the truck should be getting better than that. The truck has about 197,000 miles and weighs somewhere in the 10,000 pound range. Looking for suggestions.
