  1. Actually found this same kit on suncoast trans site, think it was a little cheaper, installed it last week....hopefully this fixes it
  2. It's worth a try, all the solenoids have come from dodge. I was not aware there was an aftermarket solenoid available for it. Could you send me the website address so I can check it out, thanks!
  3. Not getting any codes.. Checked them the first two times, and I have had a temp gauge on it, never got above 140 degrees. It's got a maghytec deep pan, holds around 6 extra quarts....suppose the trans temp sensor could be out? Think there is a dash light for that, not sure. But if you change the govn solenoid, it's fine.
  4. I have an 01" qcsb. Since almost a year ago, every time I pull my camper down the interstate, I will loose first gear. Now, I do tow in overdrive, camper only weighs 5k. I am thinking when the governor sensor blows, is when it downshifts into third. I have changed the sensor three times myself, along with the governor transducer. After the third time I dropped it off at the dealer, didn't have the time or patience to look at it again. They changed the solenoid under warranty twice, the second time they changed the overdrive solenoid I believe? Which included a harness that plugs into the governor solenoid that keeps going. So basically, the governor solenoid has been changed, a lot. The transducer has been changed. The harness has been changed. What else is left? Oh, and to add, the first time it did this, I wasn't towing, I was on the interstate for a three hour trip.
  5. I was looking at the conversion kits for the front hubs, converting them to old school lockout hubs with real bearings....And they are claiming 2+ mpg increase...that is a big gain for these heavyweights. Is anyone currently running these hubs that could confirm this claim??
  6. just checked codes... p1762 and p1693 the 1762 looks like the govn pressure sensor...have to find the 1693 code yet
  7. On our way home from a road trip today, cruised for about an hour and a half at 70mph. We got off the highway and go to take off from the stop, and it takes off in second gear and would not shift. I pull over and check the fluid, it looks fine, smells fine. I take off, and now it does not have first gear, but seems to shift/run fine in all other gears. I did notice a week ago that it would hunt @ 45 mph alittle. Thinking maybe the govn solenoid in the trans has gone out...I think I might change the oil and filter, been @ 50k since it was done. And change the two solenoids in the trans, and cross my fingers....Any other ideas?
  8. I have the controls set on max air, fan set on max....It is cycling about 3-5 seconds, I will have to put some real gauges on it to completely tell whats going on, I was just using one of those charge bottles, it could very well be a plugged oriface, the accumulator wasnt getting very cold either.
  9. I added the additive from O'Rielly's.....Works like a top!! Thanks Guys
  10. My neighbor is selling his 2001 3500...I put a injection pump and lift pump in it for him a couple of weeks ago...While I was test driving I noticed the A/C was not working...I tried giving it a charge with one of those quick charge bottles, with the built in gauge in it. There was a low charge, I brought it up to spec for the temperature. But it still is not blowing cold. I also noticed that the compressor is kicking off and on rather quickly, It builds pressure fairly quick, then kicks off right away...which is common if there is a low charge....Thinking maybe the high pressure switch is bad? Any other ideas?? Thanks
  11. which additive would you recommend?
  12. Seems to only do this when it gets warmed up...Coming off of the highway, stopping, then turning, it feels like the rear end has a locker...It does have limited slip. But sometimes if feels like its grabbing when you turn, and you can almost hear the tires breaking loose a little. I did change the rear end oil @ 1 year ago. I put Valvoline duralbend synthetic blend 80w90 oil in it. And it says its for limited slip...Maybe try a different oil??
