  1. Yea i have a fuel pressure gauge, I will be doing some sort of fuel system in the near future just to be safe, then will add whatever small tuner works best.
  2. My truck is pretty much stock, I use it for towing my 18 foot landscape trailer 98% of the time, i wanna boost the hp alittle to help it pull up the hills. I don't want to start changing injectors and all that stuff, I just want a quick boost in power and call it a day. My truck has the small Hy35 turbo on it, I was considering either swapping the bigger Hx35 OR slap a small tuner on there, which one would be a better option?? will i see any real noticible gains from the bigger turbo for towing or would a small tuner be a better option????
  3. Mechanic says they tested everything and the Ecu is shot, So i bought a new Ecu, and they will be programming it and installing it tomorrow, we shall see if this was the problem........
  4. Well the trucks at the shop now, ill let you guys know what they find out.
  5. I dunno i have checked every wire i could find to see if its loose. im at a lose here.I did however Test the truck some more and it will also throw the code while revving the engine in neutral, so its not specific to driving under a load, it will throw the code everytime it hits 2500rpms, under load or in neutral.
  6. Some one should sell these kits pre-made and ready to bolt onto the truck.
  7. I guess im not opposed to fuel in the cab lol, ill have too see how i feel when i hook it up i suppose.
  8. So i bought the gauge with the gauge kit and am getting ready to hook it up, Do i need to use the pressure gauge isolator shown in the pics? and if so what does it do? also i have a schrader valve coming off of my vp44 can i plumb the gauge in there?
  9. Any good diesel mechanics in CT? Im trying to find a good place to work on my truck in CT. I dont want to sent it to the stealership because they are morons.
  10. Any idea why it would be specific to 2500rpm's? i could see it being intermittent but its specific to 2500rpm's no matter how much throttle im giving it.
  11. Sorry should have been more specific, its a 2001, no programmer, All stock besides a 4 inch exhaust. I just bought the truck, It has a new vp44 as well as a new stock replacement lift pump. I just bought a fuel pressure gauge and have not hooked it up yet, so i have no clue about fuel pressure. cant really check the pressure anyways because the truck shuts down at 2500 rpms.
  12. Trucks been throwing the 1689 code. I started to test the truck to see how often it throws the cel. 1689 every time. It will cut the power for a few seconds EVERY time it hits 2500ish rpms, it only happens at 2500rpm's. why would it be doing it at a specific rpm? I thought for a while it was only doing it under hard acceleration but its cutting out at 2500?????? Any ideas???
